A bold sound for a new rectifier era

The Badlanders were born from Mesa/Boogie's legendary Dual Rectifier amp and feedback from players who have used them for decades and wanted: Tighter lows, differentiated highs and less mids with MESA gain that feels great and huge sounds. The Badlander 25 head delivers this recipe in a small enclosure and a power range that has a rugged character all its own. For guitarists with a rock bent who like British influences with American gain , the appeal of the Badlander 25 is obvious, with many such sounds that sound huge through the speakers and deliver a breathtaking performance even without live loudspeaker .
Delivering the rectifier-inspired voice and performance of the Badlander 100 and Badlander 50, the Badlander 25 head offers a red-hot, ultra-portable, low-power option for those who don't need a big- power amplifier . The same simple 2-channel format, with Clean, Crunch and Crush modes selectable, suits this small EL84 powered amplifier perfectly.

A simplified version of Badlander

The most important functions and options of the larger models are retained, only the amplifier, the transformers and the enclosure have been revised. Sonically speaking, it's not easy to choose a favorite between the three Badlander models, as each has its own character and area of application , but the 25 model wins in terms of attitude and portability.

Like all Badlanders, the Badlander 25 head is equipped with the CabClone™ IR interface , making recording and cableless live performances easier. The integrated CabClone IR Virtual Cabinet Simulator & Reactive Amp Load comes with the following eight original Mesa/Boogie Virtual Cabinet IRs that can be assigned to the respective channels:

  • 4x12 Rectifier Standard (Closed Back)

  • 4x12 Rectifier Traditional (Closed Back)

  • 2x12 Rectifier Horizontal (Closed Back)

  • 1x12 Rectifier (Closed Back)

  • 1x12 Thiele (closed back, front ported)

  • 2x12 Lone Star (Open Back)

  • 1x12 Lone Star 23 (Open Back)

  • 1x12 California Tweed 23 (Open Back)

The CabCLone IR was designed as an open system and is compatible with select third-party IRs. A simple usb port allows free access to download, store and use your favorite IRs with capacity for additional presets. A USB 2.0 A to B connection cable (not including ) is required to manage the IR data directory. The same selection of Rectifier closed-back and Boogie open-back cabinets as is also included, offering a wide range of sounds .
For guitarists looking for gigantic tube sound in a package that fits in a travel bag, the Rectifier Badlander 25 is the best choice!

About Mesa/Boogie Rectifier

About Mesa/Boogie

In the late 1960s, Randall Smith, one of the San Francisco Bay Area's most famous amplifier repairers, was inspired to build his own amplifier model after learning to appreciate the tweed circuits of the 1950s. He loved their organic sound, the effective controls , and the way the sound changed smoothly from clean to distortion and back again when the gain control was turned.
In order to advance with his own amplifier designs and concepts, he settled in Pentaluma, California in 1969 and worked on further developing his amplifier model.
The typical, heavily distorted sound of his Mesa/Boogie amplifier model was initially the result of an electrically incorrectly dimensioned preamplifier. The company's founder, Randall Smith, was unsure whether the pre-amp would have enough power to drive the amplifier , so he designed it with four double triodes, of which the first seven triodes are still used today to amplification the input signal.

Many years later , Mesa/Boogie has become one of the major global players in the market for high-quality guitar and bass amplifiers and is a leader in the development of modern amp designs and circuits. The American company also holds several patents on special features and circuits, such as Multi-Watt™, Dyna-Watt™ and the Mesa CabClone™ Cab Simulator, which you are sure to come across when browsing through our selection of Mesa/Boogie products become.

Of course, a manufacturer of such innovative and high-quality products has now also been able to gather a large fan base among professional musicians who are enthusiastic about Mesa/Boogie amps. The most famous users of Mesa/Boogie amps include the aforementioned Carlos Santana, Larry Carlton, Angus Young, Robben Ford, Eric Johnson, Keith Richards, Pete Townshend, Adam Jones, Mark Tremonti and Dave Grohl. Of course, these are by no means all the famous Mesa/Boogie users and Mesa/Boogie also has a large and constantly growing fan base among studio musicians and hobby guitarists. Maybe you too will soon be part of the next generation of the Mesa/Boogie fan community?
