Mesa Boogie Rectifier
More than 25 years, two generations of guitarists and several musical trend cycles have passed since the Rectifier series first unleashed its crushing wall of gain on the airwaves. In that time many have imitated, copied, dissected and plagiarised it, but it still remains firmly anchored at the centre of heavy music — a true rock icon. While the Rectifier has without doubt left the biggest and deepest footprint in heavy music and still calls that world home, it has also become the preferred amp for a long list of chart-toppers outside the heavy realm. The current Rectifier line includes heads and matching cabinets and, on top of that, the feature-packed Badlander models.

The history of the Mesa/Boogie Rectifier amps
With the Rectifier series, Mesa/Boogie introduced sonically relevant features such as the switching between diode and tube rectification, with diode rectification producing a harder, rougher sound. The two-channel "original Rectifier" was later released in many other variants. The different channels cover almost all characteristic Mesa/Boogie sounds. Each channel offers different tone-shaping options that can be selected via toggle switches. The Rectifier has gained a special status in the hardcore, rock and metal scenes because it delivers a powerful, full and aggressive tone.
Over a decade ago the Recto underwent a massive facelift that significantly expanded its versatility, turning it into an amp that masters any style with ease.
Modernising the classic: the Badlander
With the Badlander, Mesa/Boogie released in 2020 a more contemporary interpretation of the classic Rectifier. The essential differences compared to older designs are a tighter low end and the modern feature set. The Badlander features a Direct Out, a Mesa/Boogie CabClone™ IR cab simulator with 8 Mesa/Boogie cabinet IRs, an XLR output and much more. The Badlander amps have two identical channels, each switchable between Clean, Crunch and Crush and with controls for Gain, Bass, Middle, Treble, Presence and Master. The various models are available as head or combo.
