Tube Amplifier Meets a Modern Guitar Setup
CHUCK is not a typical modeling amp. Instead, a real high-voltage tube preamp sits directly in the signal path, delivering the feel and dynamics of a traditional tube amplifier. At the same time, modern digital technology significantly expands CHUCK’s capabilities: integrated effects, storable presets, realistic IR cab simulations, and a direct out for stage and studio provide maximum flexibility in any setup. The result is classic guitar tone combined with the convenience of modern technology.
Effects
The Underdog CHUCK includes a selection of high-quality effects built right in. Delay, Reverb, Chorus, Wah, Boost, and an integrated noise gate give you everything you need for versatile guitar tones – without requiring an additional pedalboard. The effects are easy to control and can be perfectly tailored to your personal sound, keeping your entire effects setup ready whenever you need it.
Presets
With the storable presets, you can recall your favorite sounds at any time. Whether clean, crunch, or high-gain – once configured, complete sound setups including effects and settings can be saved. Using the footswitch or MIDI, you can switch between presets instantly and be perfectly prepared for every musical situation.
IR Cab Simulation
Thanks to integrated impulse response (IR) technology, CHUCK simulates realistic guitar cabinets and microphone placements. This allows your signal to sound authentic and powerful even without a connected guitar speaker. Ideal for direct recording in the studio or for sending your signal straight to the PA – delivering professional cab tone that can be flexibly customized.
Direct Outs
The direct out allows you to send your signal directly to a PA, an audio interface, or a mixing console. In combination with the integrated cab simulation, you get a ready-to-use guitar tone without the need to mic a speaker cabinet. This saves setup time, ensures consistent sound quality, and is especially practical for live gigs and recording sessions.

The Underdog CHUCK can be flexibly integrated into almost any guitar setup. Via the speaker out for guitar cabinets (4, 8 or 16 ohms), you can use it in the traditional way with a speaker cabinet, while the XLR direct out with cab simulation delivers a ready-to-use signal straight to the PA. For recording, an integrated USB audio interface is also available, and thanks to the headphone output, silent practice is possible at any time. This makes CHUCK equally suitable for live gigs, home recording, and silent practice.

The Idea Behind CHUCK
The development of CHUCK began with a simple question: Why isn’t there a compact solution that combines authentic tube tone with the flexibility of modern effects technology?
Developed from Real-World Experience
The developer behind the concept is both a guitarist and an electronics engineer. From personal experience, he knew how difficult it can be to combine classic tube tone with modern features such as presets, effects, and direct outs—especially in a compact format designed for a pedalboard.
From Concept to Product
From this idea, CHUCK was ultimately created: a device that combines traditional amplifier technology with modern digital control, offering guitarists a flexible solution for stage, studio, and rehearsal spaces.
Pedalboardamps sind total angesagt - man muß keine großen und schweren Verstärker schleppen und hat den kompletten Amp direkt auf dem Pedalboard. Der Underdog Chuck Amp hat einiges zu bieten - echte, mit Hochspannung betriebene Röhrenvorstufe, Class - D Endstufe und digitale Effekte und ebenfalls digitale Steuer- bzw. Speicher Möglichkeiten. Mit an Bord sind IR Speakersimulationen (12 Werks IRS und 20 Slots für Fremd IRs) und Amp Simulationen für DI Betrieb. Alle Effekte sowie der 3-Band EQ mit semiparametrische Mitten lassen sich intuitiv mit einem Encoder Poti und dem Graphic Display editieren, ein internes Noise Gate unterdrückt evtl. Störgeräusche, ein Stimmgerät ist ebenfalls mit an Bord. Der FX Loop kann entweder seriell oder parallel betrieben werden. Es stehen auch eine USB Schnittstelle für Firmware Updates und zum Laden von IRs und eine MIDI Schnittstelle für externe Schaltvorgänge zur Verfügung.
