A powerhouse from the Rectifier family

It's time to unveil a new member of the Rectifier family : the Rectifier Badlander 100. Tighter, meaner, more aggressive - a Recto that is tuned for today and raises the bar for rock sound once again. Seasoned guitarists know that there's nothing better than the punch, punch and headroom of a 100-watt head, and the Badlander 100 sits at the top of the Badlander family and is ready to reinforce that insight.
Two identical channels have three new, extremely dynamic modes. CLEAN, CRUNCH and CRUSH deliver the gain, power and raw characteristics you need to cut through any band or session environment. The easy-to-use 2-channel preamp is equipped with three different power levels, each delivering addictive EL34 performance.

100, 50 or 20 watts of power can be adjusted according to your wishes

The Badlander 100 features Mesa/Boogie's patented Multi-Watt™ Power Switch, which offers three power settings: a full 100 watt power that runs the entire EL34 quartet, a 50 watt half power setting that uses two EL34 tubes, and a reconfigured 20 watt triode option. Each has its own advantages and character, and together they offer almost unlimited possibilities when considering the combinations with the available preamp modes, their gain structures and selectable sounds .
Compared to its 50-watt counterpart, the 100's lower mids sound fatter, fuller, and slightly more prominent in the mix, regardless of how the mode switch or gain control are set. You can literally feel the sound in your body.

The Badlander 100 is also a sound engineer's dream come true. It features our first integrated CabClone™ IR and offers seamless DI with channel-specific IR assignment of the eight virtual loudspeakers and a reactive load. Combined with the 100's new sounds and power range , the result is the most versatile and receptive Recto ever, even in "Silent Mode" when you can't use your favorite speaker!
The CabClone IR offers new flexibility, portability and comfort that you could only dream of before. You now have the option to work directly and silently or with your box, for recording, stage or practicing with headphones, with instant access to eight real Mesa boxes, mic'd in a professional environment, and storage in the internal library for additional boxes. When it comes to having a consistent sound from venue to venue, with or without a speaker box, it really doesn't get any better than this, it's up to you.

The integrated CabClone IR Virtual Cabinet Simulator & Reactive Amp Load comes with the following eight original Mesa Virtual Cabinet IRs that can be assigned to the respective channels:

  • 4x12 Rectifier Standard (Closed Back)

  • 4x12 Rectifier Traditional (Closed Back)

  • 2x12 Rectifier Horizontal (Closed Back)

  • 1x12 Rectifier (Closed Back)

  • 1x12 Thiele (closed back, front ported)

  • 2x12 Lone Star (Open Back)

  • 1x12 Lone Star 23 (Open Back)

  • 1x12 California Tweed 23 (Open Back)

The CabCLone IR was designed as an open system and is compatible with select third-party IRs. A simple usb port allows free access to download, store and use your favorite IRs with capacity for additional storage spaces. A USB 2.0 A to B connection cable (not including ) is required to manage the IR data directory.

The latest evolution of the rectifier

If you like big, menacing sound , we invite you to discover what 50 years of designing and building high-performance tube amplifiers has to offer. From the new Recto Clean to Crunch to Modern Era Heavy - experience the Badlander 100 and Mesa/Boogie's latest evolution of the Recto sounds. At its core, it's a Rectifier, but not the Recto you know.

In terms of sound, the Badlander 100 delivers breathtaking clean headroom, tight gain sounds with lots of power and punch in a wide, three-dimensional space. All three modes of the Badlander 100 deliver a rich, powerful sound with immediate presence through the dynamic power section, which offers enough reserves for any situation. But power has never just been about volume, but also about tone, feel and vibe. The Badlander 100's power section delivers plenty of volume when needed, but it's the balance, touch response and dynamic control capabilities of this powerful amp that set the Badlander 100 apart.

We recommend the speaker cabs from the Mesa/Boogie Rectifier and the Mesa/Boogie Boogie Cabinet series as additional loudspeaker . This series brings together the best of all Mesa/Boogie Cabinet lines and combines their specifications into a new series of open-back cabinets.

About Mesa/Boogie Rectifier

About Mesa/Boogie

In the late 1960s, Randall Smith, one of the San Francisco Bay Area's most famous amplifier repairers, was inspired to build his own amplifier model after learning to appreciate the tweed circuits of the 1950s. He loved their organic sound, the effective controls , and the way the sound changed smoothly from clean to distortion and back again when the gain control was turned.
In order to advance with his own amplifier designs and concepts, he settled in Pentaluma, California in 1969 and worked on further developing his amplifier model.
The typical, heavily distorted sound of his Mesa/Boogie amplifier model was initially the result of an electrically incorrectly dimensioned preamplifier. The company's founder, Randall Smith, was unsure whether the pre-amp would have enough power to drive the amplifier , so he designed it with four double triodes, of which the first seven triodes are still used today to amplification the input signal.

Many years later , Mesa/Boogie has become one of the major global players in the market for high-quality guitar and bass amplifiers and is a leader in the development of modern amp designs and circuits. The American company also holds several patents on special features and circuits, such as Multi-Watt™, Dyna-Watt™ and the Mesa CabClone™ Cab Simulator, which you are sure to come across when browsing through our selection of Mesa/Boogie products become.

Of course, a manufacturer of such innovative and high-quality products has now also been able to gather a large fan base among professional musicians who are enthusiastic about Mesa/Boogie amps. The most famous users of Mesa/Boogie amps include the aforementioned Carlos Santana, Larry Carlton, Angus Young, Robben Ford, Eric Johnson, Keith Richards, Pete Townshend, Adam Jones, Mark Tremonti and Dave Grohl. Of course, these are by no means all the famous Mesa/Boogie users and Mesa/Boogie also has a large and constantly growing fan base among studio musicians and hobby guitarists. Maybe you too will soon be part of the next generation of the Mesa/Boogie fan community?
