The Sheriff comes in a variety of guises:
As the Sheriff 44 in the classic amp cabinet with 44 watts, or as the Sheriff 22 in the compact lunchbox format, it traditionally watches over the cabinet of your choice. Recently Victory Amps expanded the sheriff's office: the Sheriff 25 arrives in the familiar lunchbox-amp format and as a combo with a 12-inch Celestion G12 Anniversary speaker. For those who like it louder, there's the Sheriff 100 as a full-size 100-watt head and also in a smaller Compact version at the same power.
The Victory Sheriff amps still stand for the finest British amp sound on two channels, which you could almost call a journey through rock history. In the Vintage Gain channel you'll find the classic gritty tones of rock and blues rock from the 1960s and early '70s. The Hot Rod Gain channel offers substantial gain reserves and enables excursions into the heavy rock and metal of the late 1970s and the 1980s.
Unlike the predecessor model Sheriff 22, both channels now share a single jack input and can be switched via a front-panel switch or footswitch, and they feature separate master volume controls. Additionally, the Sheriff 100 provides two different gain modes per channel. To tailor the sound even more precisely to your gear and preferences, there are also switches for Presence Boost and Bass/Depth Focus, the latter being adjustable on the rear of the Sheriff 100. A real technical nicety are the external tube bias test points. The Victory Sheriff amps come standard with EL34 tubes but can easily be set up for other tubes such as 6L6, KT66, KT77, 6CA7, 5881 and others.
If you want a more compact and agile setup, the Sheriff V4 pedalboard amp, with or without a power section, will keep your pedalboard in order. All amps provide, across two channels, sounds from classic Plexi to the powerful distortion of EL34 tubes. If you only want the Sheriff's distortion character with your own beloved amp, the Sheriff V1 is a high-quality overdrive pedal.
