All-rounder tube amplifier
The Engl E606 Ironball head 20 SE is a practical all-rounder. The 20 watt top has a two-channel preamplifier with four 12AX7 tubes. Two EL84 tubes are installed in the amplifier . If the full power is too much for you, you can also reduce the Ironball 20 SE to 1 watt. From crystal-clear clean sounds to crunch or the fat metal board, the two channels have a switchable boost with sufficient upward dynamics. The distorted guitar playing can be enriched with the integrated delay and reverb effects. If you love brutally clean palm muting, you can use the existing noise gate.

The Ironball looks heavy in its black and silver metal housing, but only weighs 7 kg on the muscle scales. You get the typical Engl sound quickly. Whether in the living room, in the studio or on stage, the E606 head impresses! Three-band EQ and an additional presence controls in the lead channel clear the way for magnificent guitar rhythms and solos. The impedance can be switched between 8 and 16 ohms, and a suitable cabinet can be quickly connected depending on your taste.
Recording King
The sounds of the Ironball Special edition can also be recorded silently using the built-in recording out. Eight different speaker simulations, each with their own sound character, invite you to try out and experiment. The performance is controlled with an adjustable headphone output with an emulated signal for silent practice. Not every tube amp can do that! If things get loud, the power can also be reduced using the Power Soak feature.
What at first glance seems like something taken from a cockpit quickly turns out to be the successor to the popular Ironball Lunchbox Amp from ENGL. The 20 watt power can be adjusted down to 5 and 1 watt, which makes the Ironball the perfect companion in the rehearsal room, in the studio but also at home. It also offers eight presets for impulse responses, so that the amplifier can only be played via headphones or recorded via the XLR Direct Out. The internal reverb and delay, the noise gate as well as a master volume boost and the tube-buffered effects loop can be activated using the toggle switches on the front. The comprehensive functions of the ENGL Ironball can also be operated using the separately available midi baseboard.
