Jose Arredondo (1923–1994) was a pioneering amp modder whose famous modifications of classic British amps helped shape the high-gain revolution and continue to inspire guitarists around the world.
Dave Friedman studied Arredondo's work for years.
With the Friedman Jose Head he pays tribute to that legacy – developed in collaboration with Arredondo's daughter Marisol. The Jose amp is not a simple reproduction but a modern, detail‑loving reinterpretation of the legendary "Jose Mods".

The 100-watt head with EL34 tubes delivers a rich high-gain tone with plenty of punch and dynamics. Thanks to a 3-way gain-style circuit, Fat switch and dual presence controls, the amp covers a wide tonal spectrum from classic to modern sounds. Features such as internal input jumpering and the switchable effects loop also provide maximum flexibility in a modern rig.
