When construction / acoustic the Yamaha BBP34, the Japanese bass makers rely on elaborate ingredients that guarantee first-class sound and unhindered playability. In the body, a thick layer of maple, which separates the alder bottom and top , ensures an assertive mid-range and a tight sound development, which is supported by the five-piece neck made of maple and mahogany. The "Miter" neck connection was also adopted from Billy Sheehan's Yamaha Attitude Bass, in which two diagonally embedded screws pull the base of the neck deep into the neck pocket, where four further screws secure it securely. In addition, the entire bass is subjected to Yamaha's Initial Response Acceleration (IRA), which gives the bass the lively tone of a long-played instrument through a vibration treatment. About Yamaha BB

Die BB-Serie von Yamaha steht für möglichst nutzungsorientierte Bassgitarren, die nicht von sich ständig ändernden Trends belastet sind. Jede BB-Bassgitarre hat damit nur ein Ziel, dem Spieler ermöglich den eigenen Sound zu verwirklich.

Die BB-Serie lässt sich grob in vier unterschiedliche Reihen unterteilen. Die Einsteiger Instrumente der Serie sind die 200 Modelle, diese liefern mit einem Erle Korpus, verschraubtem Ahornhals mit Palisander Griffbrett und zwei Custom V3 Keramik Tonabnehmer alles, was man für die ersten Schritte in der Welt der tiefen Töne so braucht. Die 400 Modelle erhalten im Vergleich zu den 200 Modellen die Yamaha eigenen YGD-Pickups und neben den typischen vier Halsschrauben noch zwei weitere, die im 45° Winkel den Hals in den Korpus ziehen und somit die Schwingungsübertragung verbessern. Das nächste Glied in der sprichwörtlichen BB-Nahrungskette ist die 700 Reihe. Diese zeichnet sich durch einen Erle/Ahorn/Erle Korpus, einem 5-teiligen Ahorn/Mahagoni Hals sowie, als einzige der Serie, einen Aktiv/Passiv-Schalter und EQ mit Regler für Bass/Mid/Treble aus. Die Spitzenmodelle der BB Serie sind die Pro Modelle. Diese verfügen wie auch schon die 700 Serie über einen Erle/Ahorn/Erle Korpus mit Ahorn/Mahagoni Hals und YGD Custom V7 Tonabnehmer. Im Vergleich zu 700 Serie werden die Bässe der Pro-Reihe exklusiv dem I.R.A Verfahren unterzogen. Dabei werden die Instrumente durch Vibrationen belastet und dadurch eingeschwungen, man erhält somit ein brandneues Instrument was bereits eingespielt ist.
