The perfect rock guitar

Few guitar models have influenced generations of musicians as much as the Gibson Les Paul. Over the years, a few model variants have been added, but most players want an instrument that is as close as possible to the original models from the late 1950s and early 1960s. The Gibson Les Paul Standard 60s is available from session in the best quality and made in the USA. The photo shows the model in Bourbon Burst.

Rock history to take in hand

Peter Frampton, Slash and modern bands like In Flames use the classic Gibson Les Paul live and in the studio. Because a "Paula" not only looks damn good with its maple top , it is also very flexible in terms of sound and has always proven itself in the different music genres from rock to pop to metal. The mahogany neck glued into the mahogany body, the fixed bridge and the two humbucker pickup give the instrument its distinctive, lively sound. All you have to do is pick it up, try it out and let it convince you!

Committed to tradition

With a Gibson Les Paul Standard 60s you don't just become part of music history. In times of constant change, you also support a traditional company that connects people with passion and craftsmanship. A place where sustainable and, above all, long-lasting musical instruments are created. An investment that pays off.

More features

The facts: The scale length of the Les Paul 60s is 628 mm. The 22 medium frets are cold treated. The fretboard is made of rosewood (Dalbergia latifolia). Trapeze fingerboard inlays. The Graph Tech saddle is 43 mm wide.

The view of the two burstbuckers (61T on the bridge and 61R on the neck). In order to recreate the sound of the legendary PAF models as closely as possible to the original, the coils of the humbucker are wound differently and are not waxed. This makes them more susceptible to feedback, but makes the instrument sing more.

About Gibson Les Paul Standard

As early as 1958, Gibson built Les Paul guitars called the Standard. In 1960, with the redesign of the Les Paul to later become the SG, production was initially discontinued. However, since 1976, Gibson has been producing Les Paul standards again. The Standard series are guitars that embody the essence of the Les Paul.

The Les Paul Standard guitars consist of a mahogany body with a maple top and a glued mahogany neck with a rosewood fretboard. This is based on the same recipe that characterized the first Les Paul guitars of the late 1950s.

The Les Paul Standard is available in several model series, each representing a different time in Gibson's history and thus paying homage to this time. In addition to the Standard 50's, these model series also include the Standard 60's and the Standard 50's with P-90 pickups.

For those of you who particularly value historical accuracy, Gibson also builds reissues of former Les Paul standards as frame of the Murphy Lab .

If you want to get an overview of the series , you can find our series overview here .

If these guitars are not exactly what you are looking for, we would like to recommend the Les Paul Studio series or the Les Paul custom shop guitars .

If the Gibson versions are a little too expensive for you, you can find an overview of our range of Epiphone Inspired by Gibson guitars here.

About Gibson

The US Gibson Guitar Corporation, founded in 1902 by Orville Gibson in Kalamazoo, Michigan, was initially known for production mandolins and banjos. Today the company's headquarters are in Nashville, Tennessee and Gibson is one of the world's most well-known and renowned manufacturers of electric guitars.

The Les Paul model , named after its creator Lester William Polsfuss, is one of the most famous and best-selling electric guitar shapes of all time and founded the design of the single cut guitar, which has been copied, adopted and reinterpreted by numerous other manufacturers. The Les Paul is primarily valued for its warm and powerful sound . The humbucker pickup responsible for this, in its common design today, was also developed by Seth Lover at Gibson .

At the beginning of the 1960s, another solid body electric guitar from Gibson appeared, the Gibson SG . Initially intended as a successor to the Les Paul, it became another icon of rock history, thanks in part to Angus Young from AC/DC, and is the basis for the double cut guitar type .

With the Flying V and the Explorer , Gibson is responsible for two body shapes that were far ahead of their time at the time of their release in the late 1950s, but which also achieved legendary status over the years. To this day they also serve as the basis for a variety of heavy guitars , for example from manufacturers such as Jackson or ESP.

The Gibson custom shop produces commissioned work , high-quality one-off pieces and exact replicas of famous models and legendary vintages of their instruments. These are often subjected to an artificial aging process called relicing.

Acoustic guitars have also been produced for almost as long as the company has existed. The J-45 , the Hummingbird , the L-00 and the SJ-200 are among the most popular acoustic guitars in the world and were the instrument of choice for Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley and John Lennon.

In addition to the instruments already mentioned, you can of course also buy picks , bags and cases or merchandise from Gibson from us.

We are particularly proud to have a Gibson flagship store in our Frankfurt branch. There you will not only find a large selection and exclusive models to try out directly, but you will also benefit from the expertise of our Gibson -trained and certified employees when it comes to advice on the perfect guitar.
