Louder, nastier and even more compact

With a slightly slimmer sound and weight , the Rectifier Badlander 50 holds its own while giving the Badlander collection its own sonic character. It sounds even more aggressive, but still feels inviting and uncomplicated and is ready to impress even where less output power is required. Two identical channels feature the same three new dynamic modes as its 100-watt counterpart . Clean, Crunch and Crush provide gain, shaping power and an impressive tonal personality to perform in most ensembles and virtually any recording environment.
In the Badlander 50, the 2-channel preamp has two different power levels, covering everything from clean to clipping to strong saturation. The 50 watt setting delivers a powerful sound and the greatest possible headroom, while the 20 watt setting has the power amp valves switched to triode operation, resulting in greater clipping potential and a harmonious, saturated response with the typical EL34 tone has.

A unique sound profile with overwhelming power

Sometimes less is more, and if that's your mantra, the Badlander 50 is the perfect solution. With a significantly lower weight, physical aspects are of course also crucial. But the middleweight in the Badlander family has his own story to tell when it comes to a defiant attitude and a rebellious sound character. Some believe that lower wattage amplifier have a unique advantage, often described as the feeling that the upper frequencies flow more freely and quickly through the circuit. Although this may be a bit of an oversimplification, it can be said that the Badlander in the 50 watt version actually has this features along with its lively sound characteristics.

CabClone IR with eight Mesa Virtual IR Cabinets included

The Badlander 50 is also a sound engineer's dream come true. It features our first integrated CabClone™ IR and offers seamless DI with channel-specific IR assignment of the eight virtual loudspeakers and a reactive load. Combined with the 50's new sounds and power range , it creates the most versatile and recordable Recto ever, even in "silent mode" when you can't use your favorite speaker!
The CabClone IR offers new flexibility, portability and comfort that you could only dream of before. You now have the option to work directly and silently or with your box, for recording, stage or practicing with headphones, with instant access to eight real Mesa boxes, mic'd in a professional environment, and storage in the internal library for additional boxes. When it comes to having a consistent sound from venue to venue, with or without a speaker box, it really doesn't get any better than this, it's up to you.

The integrated CabClone IR Virtual Cabinet Simulator & Reactive Amp Load comes with the following eight original Mesa/Boogie Virtual Cabinet IRs that can be assigned to the respective channels:

About Mesa/Boogie Rectifier

About Mesa/Boogie

In the late 1960s, Randall Smith, one of the San Francisco Bay Area's most famous amplifier repairers, was inspired to build his own amplifier model after learning to appreciate the tweed circuits of the 1950s. He loved their organic sound, the effective controls , and the way the sound changed smoothly from clean to distortion and back again when the gain control was turned.
In order to advance with his own amplifier designs and concepts, he settled in Pentaluma, California in 1969 and worked on further developing his amplifier model.
The typical, heavily distorted sound of his Mesa/Boogie amplifier model was initially the result of an electrically incorrectly dimensioned preamplifier. The company's founder, Randall Smith, was unsure whether the pre-amp would have enough power to drive the amplifier , so he designed it with four double triodes, of which the first seven triodes are still used today to amplification the input signal.

Many years later , Mesa/Boogie has become one of the major global players in the market for high-quality guitar and bass amplifiers and is a leader in the development of modern amp designs and circuits. The American company also holds several patents on special features and circuits, such as Multi-Watt™, Dyna-Watt™ and the Mesa CabClone™ Cab Simulator, which you are sure to come across when browsing through our selection of Mesa/Boogie products become.

Of course, a manufacturer of such innovative and high-quality products has now also been able to gather a large fan base among professional musicians who are enthusiastic about Mesa/Boogie amps. The most famous users of Mesa/Boogie amps include the aforementioned Carlos Santana, Larry Carlton, Angus Young, Robben Ford, Eric Johnson, Keith Richards, Pete Townshend, Adam Jones, Mark Tremonti and Dave Grohl. Of course, these are by no means all the famous Mesa/Boogie users and Mesa/Boogie also has a large and constantly growing fan base among studio musicians and hobby guitarists. Maybe you too will soon be part of the next generation of the Mesa/Boogie fan community?
