Der Blackstar Debut 100 Black bietet "viel Gitarrenamp" für kleines Geld. Mit einer Leistung von 100 Watt (auf 5 Watt reduzierbar) ist er ausreichend dimensioniert für Proberaum und Kneipengigs. Die in MOSFET Bauweise gefertigte Vorstufe liefert druckvollen, röhrenähnlichen Sound. Es stehen 2 Kanäle zur Verfügung - Clean und Overdrive, die sich eine gemeinsame Klangregelung teilen. Mit von der Partie ist Blackstar's patentierte ISF Schaltung, bei der sich der Grundcharakter des Amps mit nur einem Poti radikal ändern läßt. Mit an Bord ist auch ein Kopfhörerausgang mit integrierter Speakersimulation, der sich auch für Recording Anwendungen nutzen läßt. Auch als Pedalboardamp macht der Debut 100 eine gute Figur.
