sound, sound, sound.

So how to play quietly but keep the sound you love? The solution, as is so often the case in these times, is an Anglicism - or its two: a so-called "attenuator", also known as a "power soak", is a device that reduces the brute force of the output signal at your speaker socket Amps reduced (attenuation = damper) and the sound character of the full tube distortion is passed on to the connected loudspeaker unchanged, but much quieter. Some of the energy that makes the signal so loud is converted into heat (power soak). Don’t worry, “soaking” won’t affect your hard crunch!

NightShift, to the rescue!

The Kong NightShift is the perfect helper for “dimming” the volume of a tube amp without changing its basic sound. The volume can be reduced from -2 dB to -15 dB. This is ideal if the amp sounds really good in the rehearsal room or on stage, but is simply too loud.

In the final position of -15 dB, the NightShift finally puts on its nightgown, because this is where the fine tuning comes into play: The volume of the amp can be continuously reduced to complete silence, so that it can be played even in the bedroom of a rental barracks. Thanks to the selector switch for 8 or 16 ohms, all common loudspeaker boxes can be used.

Load!

But that's not all: To prevent your amplifier from being damaged, you usually need to connect a loudspeaker whose electrical resistance is required by the amp's circuit. When home recording or in the studio, there isn't always the right box available or none at all. This is where the load function comes into play. It uses the 8 or 16 ohms set for a loudspeaker , so that almost every commercially available amplifier can be operated safely without a speaker.

The carefully regulated killer sound that you have added to your amplifier can be forwarded at any time either from the symmetrical XLR output with ground lift or the conventional line out with level controls to a suitable end device of your choice - be it an interface , a mixer , a cab simulation or dad's old 4-track cassette recorder.

So there are no longer any delicate children's ears, sensitive neighbors or stressed-out partners standing in the way of your GEILER-S🤤UND face. We wish you unrestricted shredding in all situations and at any time of the day or night!
