About Tom DeLonge
Thomas Matthew “Tom” DeLonge was born in 1975 in Poway, California and is a guitarist, singer, songwriter and co-founder of the punk bands blink-182 and Box Car Racer. In spring 2005 he also founded the rock band Angels & Airwaves. Tom received his first guitar at the age of 15 as a gift from a friend. Although it was broken, he taught himself to play guitar on it. In 1992 he tried to form blink-182 together with Mark Hoppus. At their first meeting Mark and Tom wrote the song Carousel, but they struggled to find further band members and the lineup changed repeatedly.
The international breakthrough came for blink-182 in 1999 with the lineup Hoppus, DeLonge and Travis Barker with the five-times Platinum-certified album Enema of the State and the single All the Small Things. From then on blink-182 were firmly established among the world's top punk bands.
After four commercially successful albums and countless awards the band decided to take a break in 2005. Tom then founded the rock band Angels & Airwaves, while Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker played together in +44. In February 2009 blink-182 announced their reunion, but Tom was replaced by Matt Skiba.
Only in 2022 did Tom rejoin the band after seven years away, and the band subsequently announced a new album and a world tour to mark the reunion.

Signature models and high-end instruments from Tom DeLonge
About Tom's guitars
Tom DeLonge is a big fan of Fender and Gibson, the two classic giants among electric guitar makers. He owns several models from both manufacturers and in the past has had signature models from both Fender and Gibson made to his specifications. He still plays these guitars today: several Fender Stratocaster and a Gibson ES-335, both models with only a single bridge pickup. Tom also often uses Gibson Les Pauls, as well as his red SG and his black Fender Telecaster. He likes bold, striking colours, which are reflected in his choice of instruments. Below you'll find some of Tom's instruments from the high-end range and his signature models.
