About Sennheiser XS Wireless (XSW)

Proven sound, effortless setup and reliable transmission

The XS Wireless series (XSW) from Sennheiser is a wireless RF system for the transmission of speech, vocals and instruments. The XSW range represents the entry into the versatile world of Sennheiser wireless systems while still offering pro features and a road-ready build. All systems combine professional live sound with the simplest operation at an unbeatable price, which makes the series especially popular with beginners and budget-conscious customers.

To make the step into the wireless world even easier, the series is offered as all-in-one complete sets. These include everything you need to get started — from the transmitter unit to the receivers, plus a suitable microphone or practical in-ear headphones. Thanks to easy setup and reliable transmission, you get proven Sennheiser sound wherever you need it!

Within the XS Wireless family the systems are divided into XS Wireless IEM, XS Wireless 1 and XS Wireless 2.

XS Wireless IEM

The wireless XS Wireless IEM bundles shine as an ideal in-ear monitoring starter set and deliver a noise-free, brilliant sound in the professional UHF range. For especially fast and simple configuration, Sennheiser’s XSW systems use predefined frequency banks. Numerous features such as the integrated equaliser, the Focus Mode, the EQ and the Limiter make the sets an outstanding and popular in-ear monitoring system.

XS Wireless 1

The sets from the XS Wireless 1 series are all-in-one wireless systems for speech, vocals or instruments. They are perfect for singers and presenters, guitarists and brass players. All XS Wireless 1 sets operate with up to 10 compatible channels in the E frequency band. This lies between 821-832 and 863-865 MHz. The bundles allow both beginners and advanced users uncomplicated and reliable use and stand out particularly for their automatic frequency management. This means the XS Wireless 1 set adapts perfectly to your personal area of application and proves to be a faithful companion on stage or in the rehearsal room.

XS Wireless 2

The XS Wireless 2 series also consists of all-in-one complete systems for speech, vocals or instruments. Sennheiser has however equipped the XS Wireless 2 systems with a number of additional features. The sets operate, alongside the already known features, with a full 12 channels, include a robust True Diversity receiver and are built particularly tough, making them very suitable for demanding stage use. The XS Wireless 2 sets are also available in many different variants.

About Sennheiser

The company Sennheiser is a German firm specialising in the manufacture of audio equipment. It was founded in 1945 by Fritz Sennheiser, who previously worked as an electrical engineer for Telefunken. Together with a handful of employees he began producing measurement devices, headphones and microphones in a small workshop in Wedemark, near Hanover.

In the 1950s Sennheiser focused on the development of condenser microphone technology, which became widely used on film sets and in TV studios. A milestone was certainly the wireless microphone system developed together with NDR for professional TV use, which from 1958 was marketed together with Telefunken under the name "Mikroport".

In 1960 Sennheiser presented another highlight and introduced the dynamic microphone MD-421, which is still produced and sold today. Thanks to its versatile applications, the MD-421 is one of the best-known microphones in the world and helped establish Sennheiser early on as a leading manufacturer of professional audio equipment internationally.

The first open-back headphone in the world also comes from Sennheiser. It was called the HD-414 and remains one of the best-selling hi-fi headphones of all time.

In 1982 Fritz Sennheiser handed over management to his son Jörg, who continued to expand and internationalise the company.

Another masterstroke from Sennheiser was the HD-25 headphone in 1988. Originally conceived as a pure monitoring headphone, it was also used as a high-class inflight headphone on the Concorde passenger aircraft. From there the headphone virtually conquered the DJ scene at supersonic speed and is still regarded today as the most popular DJ headphone with legendary status.

Shortly before the turn of the millennium, the Evolution microphone series (abbreviated with an "e") was launched in 1998. A year later the wireless microphone variant followed as the Evolution Wireless series (ew). Both series are still produced today and are used by the biggest stars in the world (including Drake, DJ Bobo, Peter Maffay, Kate Tempest, Jessie Ware, Ed Sheeran and many more). The success of the microphone range was fittingly celebrated in 2018 with the campaign "20 Years Evolution".

Since 2013 the company has been run in the third generation by the grandchildren Daniel and Andreas Sennheiser as an innovative dual leadership. Today Sennheiser employs more than 2,800 people worldwide and is represented in over 50 countries. In addition to professional audio equipment, the company also offers headphones and loudspeakers for the consumer market. Sennheiser always places great value on the highest sound quality and innovative design.

In the following years Sennheiser steadily expanded its product portfolio with further wireless microphones, in-ear monitoring systems and conference technology. Practical developments currently culminate in the Evolution Wireless Digital (EW-D) or the mobile radio systems for filmmakers and video professionals from the Evolution Wireless Digital Portable (EW-DP) series.
