Wireless audio without compromise
When it comes to wireless transmission, UHF is the benchmark by which all other wireless audio systems are measured. For many years professionals worldwide have relied on the UHF systems of the Evolution Wireless series and appreciate their reliability, flexibility and extensive feature set. The EW-DP series now combines these qualities with the advantages of digital transmission technology, ensuring unrivalled signal clarity and efficient spectrum use.

The mobile wireless systems in the Sennheiser EW-DP series have a reduced setup time so you save valuable time when rigging. The automatic frequency management coordinates up to 16 systems for you – with no wireless know-how required. That way you find and manage free frequencies quickly and efficiently.
Improved handling
During the development of the Sennheiser EW-DP system particular attention was paid to ergonomic mechanics. Every switch, every connector and every component was optimised for the best possible user experience. An innovative mounting system makes the setup as fast as it is secure: simply attach the magnetic mounting plate and stack the receivers on it. Thanks to the OLED displays, all settings and notifications remain clearly visible even in poor lighting or from awkward angles. Various power options – batteries, rechargeable packs or direct supply via the USB-C port – provide the necessary reassurance for long shoots.
Troubleshooting on the fly
Furthermore, the wireless EW-DP system helps you with troubleshooting. If setup or operating errors occur in the rush of a shoot, the system sends intelligent notifications with suggested solutions. If the audio signal is clipping, the system suggests lowering the gain. A low battery level triggers a warning. If an occupied frequency is selected by mistake, the system prompts you to change frequency. If transmitter and receiver are not paired, EW-DP asks you to press the “Sync” button. And if a transmitter is accidentally muted, a notification appears with the option to unmute it remotely. The intelligent notifications are especially helpful when you’re working alone.
Flexible control
Via the EW-D Smart Assist App for iOS or Android you have control over your wireless transmissions. The systems can be set up, operated and monitored automatically via Bluetooth. Remote access even allows you to change settings quickly and discreetly during shooting. Naturally, all settings can also be made directly on the device.
In the 1950s Sennheiser focused on the development of condenser microphone technology, which became widely used on film sets and in TV studios. A milestone was certainly the wireless microphone system developed together with NDR for professional TV use, which from 1958 was marketed together with Telefunken under the name "Mikroport".
In 1960 Sennheiser presented another highlight and introduced the dynamic microphone MD-421, which is still produced and sold today. Thanks to its versatile applications, the MD-421 is one of the best-known microphones in the world and helped establish Sennheiser early on as a leading manufacturer of professional audio equipment internationally.
The first open-back headphone in the world also comes from Sennheiser. It was called the HD-414 and remains one of the best-selling hi-fi headphones of all time.
In 1982 Fritz Sennheiser handed over management to his son Jörg, who continued to expand and internationalise the company.
Another masterstroke from Sennheiser was the HD-25 headphone in 1988. Originally conceived as a pure monitoring headphone, it was also used as a high-class inflight headphone on the Concorde passenger aircraft. From there the headphone virtually conquered the DJ scene at supersonic speed and is still regarded today as the most popular DJ headphone with legendary status.
Shortly before the turn of the millennium, the Evolution microphone series (abbreviated with an "e") was launched in 1998. A year later the wireless microphone variant followed as the Evolution Wireless series (ew). Both series are still produced today and are used by the biggest stars in the world (including Drake, DJ Bobo, Peter Maffay, Kate Tempest, Jessie Ware, Ed Sheeran and many more). The success of the microphone range was fittingly celebrated in 2018 with the campaign "20 Years Evolution".
Since 2013 the company has been run in the third generation by the grandchildren Daniel and Andreas Sennheiser as an innovative dual leadership. Today Sennheiser employs more than 2,800 people worldwide and is represented in over 50 countries.
