Buy microphones at session

There are different types of microphones that differ technically and according to their areas of application. But which type of microphone is suitable for which use and what needs to be taken into account? Below we will answer the most important questions about the different types of microphones.

First, there are the dynamic microphones . These are also often referred to as live microphones because they are very robust and therefore do not break during sometimes rough stage use. This robustness can also be found inside, as dynamic microphones can withstand very high sound pressure, i.e. volume, and can therefore easily be positioned in front of loud guitar amps, drums or singers. For the latter, there are also some wireless radio microphones that allow better freedom of movement on stage. Ribbon microphones are also dynamic microphones, but not nearly as insensitive. Due to their technical construction / acoustic , they are very sensitive to shock, increased air pressure and phantom power. Because of this, you are more likely to find yourself in studio use

This brings us directly to the next category type, namely condenser microphones , often called studio microphones. These have a flatter frequency response and react faster to incoming sound. Due to their often switchable pickup pattern and the detailed and clear results, they are particularly valued for speech and singing recordings. But condenser microphones are also used to record acoustic instruments or as room microphones. These require a power supply, the so-called 48V phantom power, which is found in most interfaces today.

With us you will also find some application-related microphones, such as video microphones that can be attached and connected to cameras, special microphones for measuring rooms or broadcast microphones . These are designed for recording podcasts or web radios, often have internal pre-amplification and can therefore be connected directly to the computer using a USB cable .

In our branches you can try out and compare a wide range of microphones from manufacturers such as AKG , Rode and Shure . Our specialist staff will be happy to advise you on the right microphone. Of course, you can also order them directly and conveniently here in the webshop.
