The HD-35 is one of Martin's best kept secrets. It is based on the legendary D-35 with a three-piece bottom, an ebony fretboard with binding and the classic herringbone pattern in the body binding. This rare instrument received a well-deserved makeover in 2018, providing ultimate playability with a scalloped top X-bracing for better sound and a modified slim oval neck profile that tapers towards the top. The HD-35 combines a spruce top with East Indian rosewood bottom and sides, resulting in a clear sound with powerful bass and shimmering highs, as you would expect from a Martin Rosewood dreadnought.

The company's inventions include special bracing (X-bracing), the neck transition at the 14th fret and popular body shapes such as the dreadnought guitar.
