About Markbass MB58R

  • PURE: Neodym-Lautsprecher + neuer HiFi-Tweeter

About Markbass

Markbass is an Italian company that specializes in the production of electric bass amplifiers . The brand was founded in Italy in 2001 by Marco De Virgiliis . Marco was born in 1963 and was enthusiastic about music and electronics from his early childhood. At the age of six, his passion resulted in a self-made loudspeaker box.

Driven by his curiosity and the need to create something new, he founded his first company called Parsek in 1996. Since then, Parsek has been involved in the development and production of electric bass amplifiers.

At the same time you could feel that the electric bass area was changing. The electric bass developed - thanks to new playing techniques, multi- scale length technology and 5 and 6 strings - from a side effect to an independent instrument that is increasingly in focus. It was only natural for Marco and his team that electric bass amplifiers also had to follow this development.

With a small, enthusiastic team, Marco gained experience and developed the first prototypes. In April 2001, the collection of ideas became his current company, Markbass .

Markbass was the first company to incorporate neodymium loudspeaker into their amplifier model . Not only did they deliver "the real, unadulterated sound of a bass" but they also made electric bass amplifiers 50% lighter than ever before. To this day, the typical identifying feature of Markbass amplifier model is the yellow-black color combination of the bass amps and cabinets. The yellow loudspeaker membranes shine at you from afar. Another special features to this day is the extremely low weight of the boxes. This can be attributed to the neodymium speakers and the small size of the tops. Thanks to the built-in Class D technology , the products can be designed to be very compact.

Since the company was founded, almost no year has gone by without the company being showered with awards for its products. This superiority has gotten around and ensured that the various bass amplifiers and cabinets from Markbass are the first choice for many artists, such as Markus Miller, Mark Egan, Randy Jackson , Reggie Washington and others.

Since development does not stand still and company founder Marco simply cannot get out of his skin, he has turned the market for bass equipment on its head once again in 2022 with his new MB58R series . With his new series , the company founder has once again managed to reduce the weight of his products, especially in the loudspeaker area, and what's even better, even protect the environment. When producing the new series in ultra-lightweight construction, care was taken to ensure that all parts and components were locally manufactured - Made in Italy and 100% from environmentally friendly sources .
