The Lowden O-23 has a solid construction, which gives this guitar its unique, warm and expressive sound . The body in the special Lowden O- form offers a large sound chamber that makes the sound particularly radiant. The red cedar top gives the tone unparalleled warmth and depth, while the walnut bottom and sides provide excellent resonance and a rich, full sound .
First-class materials
The 5-piece mahogany/rosewood neck fits comfortably in the hand and enables precise and comfortable playing. The ebony fretboard ensures a good playing feel and long-lasting performance. The 5-piece mahogany/rosewood headstock with the Lowden logo completes the elegant design. In addition, the Gotoh 381 Gold tuning machines with Ebony buttons are not only a visual highlight, but also ensure a precise tuning.
Design and workmanship
The rosette with a wooden core and decorative chips and the maple binding contribute to the elegant overall picture. The rosewood bridge and the bone saddle/cross piece inlay ensure optimal string action and intonation. The Dolphin Profile gives the guitar perfect intonation and the GL Standard Neck Profile ensures a light, comfortable playing feel. The hand-rubbed satin finish gives the guitar an elegant, matt optics.
The guitar has a scale length of 25.6" (650 mm) and has 6 strings. This combination enables a perfect balancing between playing comfort and fullness of sound.

The Original Series was the very first Lowden series from 1976, just as the O model is the original Lowden body design by George Lowden . By the time the medium F and concert size S were also added to the series , the Lowden standard of uncompromising and passionate dedication was long established and continues to be practiced at Lowden Guitars.

At the age of 16, Northern Irishman George Lowden made his first attempts at building his own guitars. George, who began building guitars in his father's workshop and was a big fan of Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton, quickly blossomed into a creative and professional guitar maker, whose guitars with their curvy body shapes are famous and renowned far beyond the borders of Northern Ireland unique sound became known. Lowden Guitars' biggest fans include Alex Di Grassi and Ed Sheeran.
