The Lowden O-22 Mahogany Red Cedar is solidly constructed and consists of a red cedar bottom and mahogany back and sides. This interaction of high-quality woods ensures a balanced, warm and detailed sound. What should be highlighted is the special depth effect achieved by the special Lowden O body shape. With this guitar you get a sound that is second to none.
The Lowden O-22 Mahogany Red Cedar is equipped with a 5-piece mahogany/rosewood neck and an ebony fretboard . The headstock is also 5-piece and bears the Lowden logo. The Gotoh 381 Gold tuning machines with Ebony buttons ensure a precise tuning and a visual highlight. The bridge is made of rosewood, while the saddle and bridge inlay are made of bone. The whole thing is rounded off by a matt finish, which emphasizes the natural beauty of the wood.

The Original Series was the very first Lowden series from 1976, just as the O model is the original Lowden body design by George Lowden . At the age of 16, Northern Irishman George Lowden made his first attempts at building his own guitars. George, who began building guitars in his father's workshop and was a big fan of Jimi Hendrix and Eric Clapton, quickly blossomed into a creative and professional guitar maker, whose guitars with their curvy body shapes are famous and renowned far beyond the borders of Northern Ireland unique sound became known.
