The Fairchild 660 Studio compressor is widely considered to be the best compressor of all time. The original Fairchild 660 and the stereo version 670 have been used in studios for decades. This inspired J. Rockett to bring this sound characteristic to the guitar world - at a fraction of the price of over $30,000.
The J. Rockett team set out to create a compressor that works like a studio compressor , expanding the harmonic spectrum and smoothing transients without crushing the overall sound .
With the Airchild Six Sixty you won't want to stop playing. It extends the sustain without overwhelming the output and adds new facets and a unique character to the sound . The sonic model was Lowell George's slide sounds and Mark Knopfler's singing lead and rhythm sounds.
