The SA series consists of electric guitars with a solid construction that have been produced and sold by the Ibanez company since 2000 . The guitars have been produced continuously since their market launch and are considered an inexpensive entry-level model in the S series. If we had to describe the Ibanez SA series in just one word, it would be: "versatile" .
The most noticeable difference from the S- series is that while the SA- series body retains the curved top of the S- series , the SA body has a flat bottom and is therefore not as thin overall. Most SA models are also equipped with a non-locking, synchronized floating tremolo system . Aside from a handful of outliers, all SA models have either an HSS (one humbucker and two single coils) or a dual humbucker pickup configuration .
The first models in the series were the SA160, SA260, GSA20 and GSA60, the latter two as part of Ibanez's GIO entry-level line. Aside from the components , the GIO SA models are distinguished by a straight headstock instead of the slanted design of the non-GIO models, as well as the placement of the output jack on the side of the body instead of an angled port on the top of the guitar like the other S - and SA models.
The Japanese instrument manufacturer Ibanez can look back on a long tradition in guitar and bass building. While Ibanez initially stood out with idiosyncratic copies of traditional models from manufacturers such as Gibson and Fender , independent series gradually came onto the market, such as the Iceman, JEM, Artcore and RG. In the 1980s, the manufacturer made a name for itself, especially in the heavy sector, with its instruments that shone with modern features, individual design and excellent playability. Innovations such as the 7- and 8-string guitars, which emerged from the fruitful collaboration with artists such as Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and Meshuggah, did the rest to establish Ibanez 's good reputation. Today the manufacturer offers an extensive range, ranging from entry-level guitars and basses to unusual custom shop models. Ibanez also knows how to impress when it comes to effects devices and amplifier model , as the classic TS9 Tubescreamer proves. With us you will find a comprehensive selection of guitars, basses, amplifiers, effects and accessories from Ibanez.
