Design and workmanship
The body is made of alder, ash or mahogany and is available in classic Fender finishes as well as in unprecedented, modern colours. This Fender Player II Stratocaster RW impresses with its mahogany body with weight reducing tone chambers and a Transparent Cherry Burst finish, which is accentuated even more by the high-gloss urethane finish. The body is connected to a bolt-on maple neck with a sophisticated satin finish. The fingerboard made of high-quality rosewood and the nut width of 1.650" (42 mm) ensure a pleasant playing feel. Everything about the neck is designed for fast and fluid playability, from the modern "C" profile with a satin urethane finish on the back to the comfortable 9.5" radius of the rosewood fingerboard with smooth rolled edges and 22 medium jumbo frets.
Sound and features
The Fender Player II Stratocaster RW Transparent Cherry Burst is equipped with three single-coil pickups. The Fender Player Series Alnico V single-coil Strat pickups deliver a clear, articulate sound that brings your music to life. The pickup selector switch allows you to choose between five different sound options to create your very own sound. The 5-way blade switch lets you adjust everything from the crystal-clear clean sound of the neck pickup to the biting bridge pickup and everything in between. The Fender Player Series Alnico V single-coil Strat pickups, combined with a volume control and two tone controls, offer you a wide range of sound variations.
The highlight of this electric guitar is the Fender 2-Point Synchronised Tremolo. It allows you to play a smooth and precise tremolo, which further enriches your sound. Fenders berühmte, in Mexiko gefertigte Player-Serie war seit ihrer Einführung eine feste Größe innerhalb der großen Fender-Produktpalette. Player-Gitarren und -Bässe erfreuten sich insbesondere bei ambitionierten Anfängern und fortgeschritten, budgetorientierten Gitarristen großer Beliebtheit. Inzwischen ist die gute, alte Player Serie allerdings etwas in die Jahre gekommen und es wird Zeit für etwas Neues: Die Fender Player II-Modelle!
Wie bei der Vorgänger-Serie setzt Fender auch bei den Player II-Modellen wieder auf das Motto „Weniger ist mehr“: Die Gitarren bestehen zwar aus den selben, hochwertigen Hölzern wie ihre Verwandten aus den USA, bei der Technik wurde allerdings auf unnötigen Schick-Schnack verzichtet und der Fokus eher auf guten Klang und eine verbesserte Spielbarkeit gelegt. Dabei herausgekommen sind E-Bässe und E-Gitarren, die zwar unverkennbar dem Vintage-Fender-Look nacheifern, aber ebenso mit einem modernen Sound und Spielkomfort überzeugen können.
