Product information

The Hogtop 00 All-Koa once again occupies a special position among the high-quality guitars from the American luxury manufacturer Bourgeois, because it is the only model whose body is made entirely of Hawaiian Koa wood. This wood is particularly rare, so only dead wood may be salvaged and used. Koa has a beautiful grain in a striking cream, red-brown or even dark brown color, extremely rare is flaming, as can be seen on this model . Koa is a dense tropical hardwood that combines mid-range focus with added brilliance and richness in the upper range. Koa's sound profile combines the mids of mahogany with the highs of maple. Because of its density , a new koa guitar will initially sound a bit bright, similar to maple. But the more a Koa guitar is played, the more the sound opens up, expanding the midrange and rewarding the player with a richer, sweeter, and more resonant sound.
Due to its smaller 00 body, the Bourgeois Guitars Hogtop 00 All-Koa will particularly appeal to fingerstyle players. A 00 Koa guitar like the Hogtop 00 All-Koa is particularly suitable for fingerstyle players who play more with their fingertips and tend to have a stronger attack.

About Bourgeois Guitars

The Bourgeois Guitars company is known for the handcrafted production of top-class acoustic guitars. All instruments belong to the absolute premium segment. Dana Bourgeois founded Bourgeois Guitars in 1992 after developing a passion for learning and building quality guitars while studying at Bowdoin College in Maine. He built his own guitars in the early 1970s and opened a small shop in Maine in 1977 where he worked as a guitar maker and repairer.

Over the years, Bourgeois Guitars has earned an excellent reputation because the company places great value on true craftsmanship and excellent sound. Only first-class and carefully selected materials are used for the instruments, because quality always comes first. The brand also impresses with its diversity, so guitarists have many different models to choose from, including dreadnoughts, OM models, jumbos and more. Bourgeois guitars are not just acoustic guitars, but lovingly crafted works of art.
