Vertex 's Tone Secret is the answer to the love-hate relationship that countless guitarists have with a particularly loud green overdrive pedal that originated in Japan in the late 1970s. The Tone Secret recreates the sound DNA of the Green Screamer's most famous users, heard on countless studio recordings and live performances, without the need for a fully maxed out amp to operate the pedal. It uses only 50% of the amplification of a traditional green OD pedal. The additional pre- overdrive and post- overdrive controls allow you to tailor the OD characteristics to each amplifier and simulate amp distortion without pressing the “DRIVE” button on your pedal. Additionally, we have added individual controls for treble and mid frequencies as well as our GRIT controls to adjust the ratio between the amplifier and the overdrive produced by the Tone Secret.
