Product information

Technics record players have long been the first choice not only for DJs when it comes to a smart work tool, but are also very popular among music and record lovers all over the world. One could also say that the legendary “Twelve Tens” and “Twelve Hundreds” from Technics have long since achieved cult status .

Reason enough to make it a little better with a new edition!

But before we deal with the new features, let's briefly explain the differences between the two twelve models. Both Technics record players are identical , only their color / finish makes the difference . The SL-1210 is black and the SL-1200 has always been the silver version.

The new edition of the Technics SL-1210 has the additional designation MK7. The Technics SL-1210 MK7 is a direct drive turntable aimed primarily at DJs. Thanks to its precise, stable synchronization and powerful drive torque, the SL-1210 MK7 from Technics is particularly suitable for mixing and beat making applications . For even more creativity, the new edition has been given a few new functions. Both the starting torque and the braking speed can be individually adjusted on the SL-1210 MK7. In addition, the pitch function has been adjusted for fine speed regulation. The pitch adjustment range is ±8%/±16%. This wide range enables highly precise and stable fine adjustment of the speed as well as the perfect matching of, for example, two SL-1210 MK7 units in DJ operation. If the speed button and the start/stop button are pressed at the same time, the reverse play function activates and the platter rotates in the opposite direction.

The highly sensitive tonearm made of lightweight aluminum is typical of all Technics models. This has always been constructed in an S- form and statically balanced. The bearing section of the gimbal has a milled enclosure and high-precision bearing elements, which ensures excellent tracking during gaming operation with a minimum of unwanted needle movements, even under harsh conditions such as scratching.

Further features of the Technics SL-1210 MK7 is the extremely practical needle lighting using a bright, long-lasting LED. This ensures even better visibility of the needle - even in very dark environments. For even more flexibility, especially when setting up and setting up the setup, the SL-1210 MK7 is equipped with a removable power and signal cable . The gold-plated phono connector sockets ensure the best sound quality and contact properties. The sturdy black die-cast aluminum enclosure and the effective damping feet contribute equally to a low-vibration sound experience and a secure stand.

The features are rounded off by a generous including. The record player includes: slipmat, slipsheet, cover, EP adapter, auxiliary weights, headshell, screw set for pickup, phono cable and a ground cable.

All in all, the new edition of the SL-1210 MK7 impresses with typical Technics quality: a must for every DJ and ambitious music lover!

About Technics

Technics is a Japanese electronics company that was founded in 1965 and has been producing a variety of high-quality audio and video products ever since. The DNA of all Technics products is based on three fundamental philosophies: sound, technology and design.

One of the most important and successful product segments at Technics, which combines these three philosophies in its DNA, are record players.

Technics record players have long been the first choice not only for DJs when it comes to a smart work tool, but are also very popular among music and record lovers all over the world.

The “Twelve Ten” and the “Twelve Hundred” – as the two turntables are called by the German fan community – are identical in construction, only their color scheme makes the difference. To get to the point, the SL-1210 is the black version and the SL-1200 is the silver version.

The twelve series was launched in 1972 and celebrated its 50th birthday in 2022. On the occasion of the anniversary of the SL-1200 series , Technics presented its legendary turntables in seven different colors and a limited 50th Anniversary edition .
