The Shure Beta 98 H/C has a frequency response tailored to the recording of brass and woodwind instruments and can be easily mounted on the respective instrument and optimally aligned thanks to the special hook . The capsule of the Shure Beta 98 H/C has a cardioid characteristic, which maximally attenuates sound coming from the back and thus delivers clean signals. For live use in a noisy environment, the Shure Beta 98 H/C offers the option of replacing the cardioid capsule with an optionally available supercardioid capsule (Shure RPM110) in order to attenuate signals arriving from the side more strongly.
