The Rode M3 offers a huge range of possible applications: live, studio, outdoor use, reporter applications, etc. The 3/4 inch capsule of the Rode M3 is elastically mounted and is discussed from the front. The Rode M3 can be powered by either phantom power or a 9V block that can be inserted into the battery compartment. This means that the Rode M3 is independent of any external power supply, especially when used outdoors. Further features include a switchable high-pass filter to suppress low-frequency noise and weaken the proximity effect, a two-stage switchable pre-attenuation (-10 dB/-20 dB), the on/off switch and the battery control LED.
