Discover the PRS SE Zach Myers 594 VTC in detail

About Zach Myers

Zach Myers is an American musician, singer-songwriter and founder and lead singer of the rock band The Fairwell . He is also the guitarist and the former bassist of the multi-platinum band Shinedown and the manager of the pop-rock group Sore Eyes . Zach is a PRS fan and player at heart , he picked up a PRS Custom 22 for the first time at the age of fifteen and announced his first SE signature model in 2010. His big wish was always a PRS Private Stock, but he initially couldn't afford it until he got his own signature guitar from PRS . As a guitarist who has rocked PRS guitars on stage and worked as a technician for several PRS bands, Myers knows exactly what a guitar should feel like and what the build quality should be.

The slightly different rock guitar

With the PRS SE Zach Myers 594 VTC, Zach Myers' second signature guitar is now joining the PRS line up. The SE Zach Myers is packed with features that will satisfy even the most demanding musicians. Featuring a semi-hollow mahogany body with a maple top, flamed maple veneer and an F-hole, the SE Zach Myers 594 VTC offers smooth mid- frequency range sounds with a natural reverb . Other features of the SE Zach Myers Signature include a 22-fret neck with the namesake 24.594" scale length , an adjustable PRS stoptail bridge , Vintage -style tuning machines and PRS -developed 245 "S"pickup with two volume and two tone controls and a 3-way toggle switch for the pickups. The guitar is available in a beautiful Myers Blue .

About PRS SE
In 2000 , PRS launched the SE family. These are wallet-friendly versions of their popular models produced in the Far East. Here you can find everything from single and double cut to semi-hollow and hollow electric guitars. We owe the development of the SE series to none other than Carlos Santana, who convinced Paul Reed Smith to build cheaper versions of his popular guitars so that even beginners could get a taste for PRS. The name SE therefore stands for “Student edition”. However, it should be mentioned that although the instruments are aimed at beginners, they clearly exceed the usual quality of their price segment.

The SE series guitars are produced in either South Korea or Indonesia. To ensure the quality customers expect from PRS , each instrument is tuned and inspected in the US factory before being shipped to dealers and ultimately customers.

About PRS

PRS Guitars sets its own standards when it comes to electric guitars. At session you will find not only the high class PRS custom shop guitars but also models from the mid-price range and electric basses from PRS. At NAMM 2016, PRS is taking a look into the past and, with the CE 24 models, has been presenting guitars with screw-on neck and maple necks in their main range for many years, which offer an interesting alternative to traditional construction. Later, the collaboration with John Mayer resulted in an incredibly successful instrument, the Silver Sky series, which was initially supplemented by additional colors and later by a cheaper SE series .

Through his great passion for guitar building and meticulous research and optimization of his models, company founder Paul Reed Smith has been creating instruments that are rightly considered true works of art for over 40 years. Not only guitar legends like Carlos Santana play the high-quality PRS guitars from the standard series, the exclusive Private Stock or even the cheaper SE production.

Paul Reed Smith is making a name for himself

The American guitar maker PRS Guitars was officially founded in 1985, but the company's founder and namesake, Paul Reed Smith, has been making guitars since around 1975. By giving his guitars to stars like Carlos Santana, Al Di Meola and Peter Frampton and convincing them directly, his instruments became more and more famous. Series production of the Custom 24 finally began in 1985. With former Gibson President Ted McCarty, Paul Reed Smith was able to gain an experienced consultant and the course was set for success for the guitars with the typical bird inlays in the fretboard .

Every guitar is a custom shop model

PRS guitars tend to be in the higher price ranges because of the high-quality materials and careful workmanship. The SE line, which has been manufactured in Korea and is of a high quality despite cheaper materials, has existed since the 1990s. The S2 series forms a link because the instruments are made in the USA, but are still quite affordable.

PRS calls all instruments custom shop instruments due to the high quality and customization options, but with the private stock instruments the company goes one step further and sets real standards in terms of materials, quality, originality and individuality. All PRS guitars have one thing in common: they are real workhorses with a lot of flexibility and look outrageously good at the same time. This can also be seen in the countless endorsers who swear by their PRS , as well as the numerous signature models from artists such as John Mayer, Carlos Santana, Orianthi, Mark Tremonti and Chad Kroeger.
