performances will sound better than ever with the DJM-A9, taking the audio quality known from the DJM-900NXS2 to a new level.

This next-generation club sound is the result of extensive development and fine-tuning of existing technologies from previous devices as well as brand new components . The channel input section offers crystal-clear, high-resolution sound with a high-quality 32-bit A/D Converter from ESS Technology. The master and booth output sections use high-quality 32-bit D/A converter of the same brand, so that you can experience the same sound through the booth monitors that the audience hears on the dance floor. Even the sound quality of the microphone input and headphone outputs has been further improved through carefully selected new components and design optimization.

Even better to play
The DJM-A9 offers a playing feel like a musical instrument. The familiar layout of the DJM series is complemented by redesigned controls and components , allowing for precise mixing and instinctive scratching.

The increased distance between the EQ controls gives your fingers the freedom you need, and the high-quality, bright LEDs in the channel section make it easier than ever to see levels. Thanks to the frequency response of the isolators, which have been optimized for current music production, dynamic performances can be achieved in no time. The high-quality channel fader , which are even smoother than the DJM-900NXS2, as well as the third generation MAGVEL FADER crossfader make silky-smooth mixing and fast, reliable scratching child's play.

World premiere: sound-Color- FX with center lock
If you activate the brand new Center Lock function of the sound-Color- FX, every controls stops when it reaches the middle position. This allows you to turn the controls as fast as you want and control the effect up to the maximum of the Hi parameter or to the minimum of the Low parameter without accidentally going to the opposite parameter. When the center lock is deactivated, the sound color FX controls work in the same way as those of the DJM-900NXS2.

Newly developed Beat FX
The Beat FX section, a very popular feature of the DJM series for many years, has been significantly improved for the DJM-A9. A new color display helps to quickly and accurately see the status of the selected effect. It offers lighting that matches the horizontal layout of the X- pads , allowing for more intuitive control with a simple finger movement. The X- pad can be used to modify the echo and Ping Pong effects to create a unique analog band-like sound . Among the total of 14 beat effects, there are three new ones that you can use to add additional variations to your performances :

• Mobius: Changes the frequency of the oscillator so that it constantly rises or falls in time with the beat.
• Triplet filter: Changes the cut-off frequency of the filter cyclically depending on the beat (based on three beats).
• Triplet Roll: Plays the recorded sound repeatedly according to the specified measure (based on three beats).

Even better: The channel selector switch is now a dedicated button, so you can quickly apply effects to the selected channel.

Improved microphone section
Since microphones are becoming increasingly important for DJs - for example for live streams and club sets - the microphone section of the DJM-A9 has been redesigned. This now allows more control and creativity for every performance. Thanks to the phantom power , high-quality condenser microphones can also be connected directly to the DJM-A9 - a function that has never been available on a DJ mixer before. There are also three new microphone effects, including a special reverb effect to change the sound of a voice and really heat up the audience with vocals:

• echo: Outputs a delay sound multiple times and attenuates it to create an echo effect .
• pitch: Changes the pitch of the microphone signal.
• Megaphone: Emulates the sound of a megaphone.

The brand new push-to-talk button switches the microphone input directly on and off if you want to speak to the audience with the microphone. If desired, the microphone signal can be excluded from the recording output. This makes it possible to moderate for the live audience but record the mix without vocals.

Advanced connection options
Two different PCs/Macs can be connected at the same time via the USB type-B and USB type-C connections (two each). Ideal for seamless DJ handoffs or mixing for two. The bluetooth input allows tracks from other devices, such as E.g. smartphones can be sent wirelessly to the mixer. It can be routed to any channel on the DJM. The audio tracks can then easily be integrated into a set in the mixer and processed with all functions and effects. In the Multi-I/O section there is an independent channel selector switch so that external effects can be used separately from Beat- FX . This gives the DJM-A9 a real send option to route a sound processed with external effects such as an RMX-1000 or a delay pedal to a separate channel instead of to the original channel.

Two independent headphone outputs and booth EQ
The DJM-A9 offers two headphone inputs , each with their own cue buttons, volume controls and mix balancing controls. This means that two DJs can listen to the desired channels at the same time. This makes DJ handovers or mixing for two child's play. A 2-band booth EQ allows you to change the treble and bass to complement the sound of the master output and match the feel in the booth to that on the dance floor.

Support for the brand new Stagehand app and integrated sound check function
The DJM-A9 is compatible with Stagehand (coming soon), the industry's first PRO DJ LINK remote management app for front-of-house teams. For example, using an iPad wirelessly connected to the mixer via a LAN router (sold separately), a sound engineer can see the level meters and how a DJ uses the mixer's controls . This makes it easier to optimally adjust the sound system - without disturbing DJs during their performance or entering the booth. This ensures smooth and impressive shows.
