The most compact subway cabinet
Mesa/Boogie's most compact subway cabinet, the 1x12 Ultra-Lite, combines a high-quality plywood cabinet, an efficient 12" neodymium driver and Mesa's best HF Driver into an amazingly compact bass cabinet that works amazingly well even in smaller rooms. It but can also be combined with another 1x12, a 1x15 or larger cabinets of different speaker sizes to achieve better range and a more intense sound , although of course always paying attention to the correct impedance matching in order to obtain a multi-dimensional cabinet array.
All Mesa/Boogie Subway bass loudspeaker are manufactured in Pentaluma, California from select materials. The Mesa/Boogie 1x12 Subway Ultra Light Cabinet comes with a cover . It is compatible with the Mesa/Boogie Subway series bass amplifiers.

In the late 1960s, Randall Smith, one of the San Francisco Bay Area's most famous amplifier repairers, was inspired to build his own amplifier model after learning to appreciate the tweed circuits of the 1950s. He loved their organic sound, the effective controls , and the way the sound changed smoothly from clean to distortion and back again when the gain control was turned.
In order to advance with his own amplifier designs and concepts, he settled in Pentaluma, California in 1969 and worked on further developing his amplifier model.
The typical, heavily distorted sound of his Mesa/Boogie amplifier model was initially the result of an electrically incorrectly dimensioned preamplifier. The company's founder, Randall Smith, was unsure whether the pre-amp would have enough power to drive the amplifier , so he designed it with four double triodes, of which the first seven triodes are still used today to amplification the input signal.
Many years later , Mesa/Boogie has become one of the major global players in the market for high-quality guitar and bass amplifiers and is a leader in the development of modern amp designs and circuits.
