The Meinl Percussion Kick Drum Cajon is built to function just like a real kick drum. Basically it is a normal cajon made of Baltic birch without cajon nare carpet or cajon strings, which gives you a pure kick sound . There are two attachments on the cajon, a cymbal arm and a Z- form percussion rod. These can be used to add instruments such as a closed hihat or a Meinl Cajon snare. For the authentic kick drum feel and sound , there is a solid metal base plate to hold the pedal in place and a special surface for playing the kick drum cajon, which creates powerful bass. This area is played with the included Meinl Soft Foam Cajon Beater (CPB4).
