Bold, rockin' and completely different from Lakewood's familiar models, the new Lakewood Black Sheep really stands out! The new look is created above all by the beautiful Black Stain Rustique finish. The new Rustique finish is an even slimmer version of Lakewood's open‑pore matte natural finishes. A wafer-thin layer of lacquer and colour protects the wood without hiding its natural texture. You can feel the grain and at the same time the wood gets the protection it needs to serve you well for years to come. The understated, narrow maple binding with light figuring and the matching maple soundhole binding also contribute to this striking appearance that at first glance hardly seems to fit into the Lakewood world - or does it after all? Someone's always got to be the black sheep...

Since 1986 the Giessen guitar manufactory Lakewood, founded by Martin Seeliger, has stood for the highest quality in guitar making. The steel-string acoustic guitars impress with their craftsmanship, outstanding playability and great tone. While Lakewood initially built almost exclusively dreadnought models, there is now a wide selection of body shapes such as Jumbo and Grand Concert. Lakewood is happy to accommodate individual wishes via its Custom Shop, so everyone can get what they want. With extensive knowledge of the professional and artful manufacture of guitars, Lakewood Guitars in Giessen have been building high-quality steel-string acoustic guitars for over 35 years. In addition to the series models, the Lakewood Custom Shop is very popular. Here you can design your own individual instrument using the "Lakewood Gitarren Designer". Lakewood is happy to support its customers from planning to the build of the instrument, offers valuable tips when choosing from the many options and helps you decide on your dream guitar. Since 2014 it's been possible to have your instrument made entirely from native woods and thus have a truly sustainable instrument built.
