Maximum tuning stability! The string is pulled through the horizontal hole in the shaft until it is halfway taut over the frets. Then turn the knurled wheel on the back clockwise with your thumb and forefinger. A small pin inside the shaft clamps the string. And then you can vote. The brilliant thing about this mechanics: if you loosen the knurled wheel again and keep turning it back, you end up in idle - that means the knurled wheel can never fall off and get lost!
