About Hamstead

Hamstead is a manufacturer of high quality, hand-built guitar amps from South Cambridgeshire in the UK. The company was created through the collaboration of guitarist Jim Bird and electrical engineer Jim Hamstead when they wanted to copy an old amplifier model . The result is the Hamstead Artist, who relies on maximum tonal flexibility, whether clean or distorted, and also cuts a beautiful figure when combined with effects pedals. The Artist is available as a 20 and 60 watt version, as a combo and as a top. The matching loudspeaker box is also available for the latter. In addition to amplifiers, Hamstead also produces wonderful-sounding, high-quality effects pedals, from preamp to distortions to tremolo.
