Introducing: Your dream instrument from Gibson
All the info to help you decide
The Gibson Les Paul is an electric guitar with a solid body that was first sold by cult manufacturer Gibson in 1952. The guitar was designed by factory manager John Huis and his team with the help and support of guitarist Les Paul. Les Paul had previously experimented for a long time with the design of a solid body guitar without acoustic sound production, and his first designs were repeatedly rejected by Gibson. But after Leo Fender had successfully launched the first solid-body electric guitars from industrial production in the early 1950s, Gibson wanted to try the same thing. The first Les Pauls were offered in 1952 with a gold finish and two P-90 pickups. The Gibson Custom Shop got inspired by these guitars and is now presenting a very special Custom Shop one-off, which is based on a Les Paul Goldtop from the 1950s.
The Gibson 1957 Les Paul Goldtop Reissue VOS is a classic single cut-style electric guitar with a mahogany body an a maple top. Mahogany was already used in the original Les Paul guitars and provides the basis for the perfect vintage sound. The mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard features a Chunky '57 "C" profile and a classic flat fretboard radius of 12”. The guitar is equipped with a classic H-H pickup combination of a Gibson Custombucker on the bridge and a Gibson Custombucker on the neck. Other features include Gibson Vintage Deluxe machine heads with white Knobs, golden reflector knobs, a Tune-O-Matic Bridge with Stop Tailpiece and a cream pickguard.
This model is finished in a beautiful Goldtop colour. The thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish ensures that the wood can vibrate particularly well and that the lacquer finish ages more beautifully. The VOS, or Vintage Originals Specs guitar looks as if it is brand new, but was bought in the 1950s or 60s. The instrument is made to vintage specifications, but has no signs of wear, faded finish, chipped hardware or other signs of age. This type of (non-) aging is perfect for you if you want everything that characterises the Gibson guitars of yesteryear, but want every scratch and dent to come from your own experience and hands.
The Gibson 1957 Les Paul Goldtop Reissue VOS comes with a certificate of authenticity in a luxurious original Gibson Custom Shop case, which you can use to transport your new dream guitar safely and protect it from external influences.

About Gibson
