Fender American Vintage II 51 Telecaster MN BTB
All about the Fender American Vintage II 51 Telecaster
The Fender American Vintage II series is not only visually inspired by the historic designs that made music history. Fender has also reproduced many details typical of the era exactly: Bodies, necks and hardware, premium finishes and pickups that are carefully matched to the tone of the original model year. Thanks to traditional Fender craftsmanship, each instrument embodies the authentic character and sound of the original model.
One year after the launch of the Broadcaster, Fender received a telegram from Fred Gretsch Mfg. Co. with a cease and desist letter. As a result, Leo Fender had to come up with a new name for his first electric guitar. The first Blackguard Telecaster was launched in 1951. The model is still in production today. Strikingly simple and yet a game changer, the Telecaster made the solid body electric guitar suitable for mass production - and a source of inspiration for countless musicians.
With its ash body in Butterscotch Blonde, the American Vintage II 1951 Telecaster matches the sound and look of the original. The neck made from hard rock maple is crafted in a strong ‘51 U-profile and plays like a dream. Vintage Tall Frets are enthroned on the 7.25" fingerboard. The narrow dot spacing at the 12th fret is typical of the 1951 production year. Details such as the Phillips screw for truss rod adjustment, a bridge with three brass string saddles and the in-line tuners with ‘Fender Deluxe’ tuners are also historically accurate. Pure Vintage ‘51 Telecaster pickups deliver the coveted Tele twang and authentic Fender style.
