Buy Telecaster or T-style guitars at session

Do you want to buy an original Fender Telecaster or another guitar in the popular T-shape from other manufacturers? In our webshop you’ll find a huge selection of different models of this classic design and useful accessories.

The Fender Telecaster today ranks, alongside the Fender Stratocaster and the Gibson Les Paul, among the most played and best-known guitar modelsFENDER Telecaster Butterscotch in the world. The Telecaster has been produced by Fender since the early 1950s as one of the first mass-produced guitars with a solid electric guitar body. Earlier electric guitars were rather acoustic in nature and, due to their electronic pickup systems, were prone to unwanted feedback and howling. Its inventor Leo Fender – who earned a living at the time as the owner of a small radio shop – built lap steel guitars with a friend and developed the first simple electric guitar for testing purposes. From a single solid piece of wood Leo Fender routed and sawed a body and mounted a neck. He then built two simple pickups, winding a few more turns of wire on one of them, and the first electric guitar for everyone was born.

It was meant to be simple and functional. To this day every Fender Telecaster (and most Tele-style guitars) follows this principle: simple construction, twangy sound. The modern Telecaster began its triumph as the Esquire and Broadcaster. Due to a trademark dispute with Gretsch, the name Broadcaster had to be dropped. For a while the guitar had no name and the models were briefly called Nocaster, before being renamed Telecaster – inspired by the then-new invention of the television (Television).

The classic Fender Telecaster and all guitars in the T-shape resemble the outline of an acoustic guitar. The unmistakable Tele body is, however, much flatter because it’s made from a solid piece of wood. On some guitars inspired by the Tele shape the body can also be made from several pieces of wood. In its classic form the body has a bolt-on maple neck with a 648 mm scale length. The truss rod is adjusted at the upper end – at the headstock – on modern models. On some earlier models you sometimes had to detach the neck from the body to access the truss rod.

Characteristic and integral to the Telecaster’s sound and appearance is the “bridge–pickup construction”. It is referred to as the heart of a true Fender Telecaster. The adjustable bridge and the pickup’s position form a unit that creates the unmistakable Telecaster sound. The neck pickup is a pickup with a metal cover. The pickup selector switch lets you toggle between pickup positions or select both at once. Volume and tone controls round off the electronics. The strings of a Fender Telecaster are fed through the body from the back, routed over the brass saddles of the bridge–pickup assembly and anchored on the tuners at the headstock on one side. The distinctive cut-out in the headstock has become a recognisable feature.

Which Telecaster is right for me?

If you want to buy a Fender Telecaster or a guitar in the typical T-shape, there’s no better time than right now. The selection has never been so large and offers the right model for every taste and budget.

Fender Squier Telecaster

If you’re watching your budget when buying a Telecaster, you’ll find a very wide range among Fender Squier’s Far East models, in various finishes. In our webshop you’ll find everything from faithful reissues in the Classic Vibe series to current variants in the Squier Affinity series. The affordable Squier models clearly benefit from the know-how of the higher-end division in manufacturing. Squier is a subsidiary of Fender. If you want to upgrade over time, our specialists recommend replacing the standard pickups with higher-quality models from Suhr or Kloppmann. That will launch your beginner Squier into professional territory.

Fender American Telecaster

Upgrading to Fender’s American-series Telecaster models makes a noticeable jump in quality. As the name suggests, these models are produced in various American factories and feature higher-quality woods and materials. Current variants include the American Professional, Original, Elite and Performer series.

The Fender American Professional Telecaster is considered THE TELECASTER. There are hardly any American guitarists who haven’t had this model in their hands. Earlier models earned fame as the Fender American Standard Telecaster. Modern specifications such as two “V-Mod” Telecaster single-coils, a new “DEEP-C” neck profile, taller “Narrow -Tall” frets, a revised bridge design and a “treble‑bleed” circuit characterise this reinterpreted American Telecaster classic.

The Fender American Performer Telecaster can be seen as the little sister of the American Professional. Its features include the new Yosemite pickups, ClassicGear tuners, jumbo frets, a satin neck finish and a Greasebucket electronics circuit with an integrated push‑pull potentiometer.

Telecaster models from the Fender American Elite Series are considered modern developments of the American Professional series. They often stand out through more exotic woods, more adventurous wiring and pickup configurations. Even the otherwise distinctive body shape (body‑shape) appears slightly rounder and more modern on some American Elite Telecaster models.

If you choose a Telecaster from the Fender American Original series, you get a piece of history in your hands. With American Original models Fender produces authentic reproductions from the 50s and 60s. A vintage look and components that leave nothing to be desired compared with the originals are part of the standard specification. A Fender American Original Telecaster is coated with nitrocellulose lacquer and fitted with “52 Pure‑Vintage” pickups. The high-quality nitro finish lets the wood breathe better, while the vintage pickups provide an authentic tonal character from earlier eras. A thicker U‑shape neck profile and exact vintage radii on body, neck, fretboard and frets, as well as hardware in exact vintage style, complete the package.

Fender Mexico Telecasters

Between Fender Telecasters from the Far East and America sit the models from Mexico. Currently there are four different series: the Fender Player, Deluxe, Classic and Artist Telecaster series. Parallels to the four American variants can be seen across the different models. The Fender Player Telecaster is considered the Mexican counterpart to the Fender American Professional Telecaster and embodies pure Fender spirit. The Fender Deluxe Telecaster is a modern evolution of the classic and often features a noiseless pickup configuration and upgraded tuners and bridge designs, as well as more elaborate electronics. The Telecasters in the Fender Classic series aim to be as authentic as possible to the 50s and 60s models and thus resemble the Telecasters from the Fender American Original series. The Telecasters in the Fender Artist series are authentic and distinctive reproductions of the cult guitars of famous guitarists. These models show attention to detail.

In our webshop you’ll find the various Telecaster series from Fender and can also choose from a wide range of T‑style guitars from other brands such as Haar or Friedman Guitars with different feature sets and colours.
