Product information
The classic single-note whammy sound made Digitech's whammy famous and guitarists such as David Gilmour, Joe Satriani, Jimmy Page, Steve Vai, Tom Morello and John Frusciante have been using it for over 20 years. New pitch-shifting technologies and algorithms that let a player shift entire chords up or down while allowing all notes in the chord to be in unison are now some of the Whammy 5's many new features. Nine Harmonizer effects, 2 Detune effects, without the need for a second guitarist are completely new in the Whammy 5. The onboard vibrato or tremolo effects have now been increased to ten and can now be selected in two different tonal directions. Users can choose individual settings between classic and chord modes using a toggle button on the front. The Whammy 5 can also be controlled by an external midi device via the included 5-pin midi input . Digitech Whammy 5:

About DigiTech

Fifty years ago, the market for effects pedals was not as big as it is today. Instead of a multitude of pedal manufacturers on the internet, you had to go to your local guitar shop and choose from two or three brands they carried. DOD was almost always one of them.
Named after co-founder David O. DiFrancesco, DOD launched its first pedals in the middle of the golden era. It wasn't long before models like the DOD 250 Overdrive Preamp and the DOD 201 Phasor were seen on some of the biggest names in the electric guitar scene.

The next revolution in guitar sound came with the explosive development of digital signal processing (DSP). DOD responded to this call with the creation of the DigiTech brand. For the first time, these products allowed musicians to access multiple professional studio-quality effects from the same device, store and recall preset sounds, all in compact, convenient housings.

While DOD was consolidating its legacy in the field of analogue effects pedals, the engineers at DigiTech were working hard to push the boundaries of DSP. Fascinated by the power and endless possibilities, they wanted to push the boundaries of what was possible for electric guitar tone. With the DigiTech DSP-128, the industry's first true multi-effects processor, they have succeeded in doing just that.

Although DigiTech has always been associated with its sister brand, the company has always pursued its own vision of providing cutting-edge digital technology that inspires musicians to create the sounds of the future. DigiTech products not only give musicians the ultimate control over incredible sounds, but also drive the development of new DSP tools to inspire the next generation of guitarists.
