Product information

In the mid-60s, music became louder and rockier - distorted guitar sounds were suddenly in demand. The tube amps of that time had to be completely opened up to get the coveted overdrive sound . Resourceful guitarists came up with the idea of blowing tube amps with fuzz boxes or boosters. The holy grail of boosters was the Dallas Arbiter Range Master - a primitive treble booster with just an OC44 Germanium transistor and a handful of other components in a small desktop case. No footswitch - the booster is activated via a slide switch, no output socket - a permanently connected jack cable creates the connection to the amplifier. The Rangemaster delivers a magical sound in conjunction with tube amps - if the guitar's volume pot is reduced, the booster delivers a crystal-clear clean sound with a neat sparkle top end, if you turn the volume pot all the way up, the amp is driven into saturation and delivers a rich distortion sound with characteristic midrange boost - the whole thing is continuously variable! Well-known Range Master users included Rory Gallagher, Tony Iommi, Brian May, Ritchie Blackmore and many others. The British Pedal Co. has resurrected the legendary Dallas Range Master Treble Booster from 1965 as an authentic replica - historically correct look and the legendary sound.

About British Pedal Company

The British Pedal Company brings together a team of designers and developers with over 60 years of experience in the music industry. In 2011 they split from JMI and launched their own range under the name British Pedal Company in 2014. Today, the British Pedal Company is able to offer a far superior product, thanks to the many hours of research that have gone into improving production and optimizing transistor manufacturing. All transistors are manufactured to in-house specifications to ensure higher reliability and lower noise. Pedals from the British Pedal Company are played by, among others, Billy Gibbons ( ZZ Top ), Dan Auerbach ( The Black Keys ) and Gary Moore.
