About Slash
Slash, whose real name is Saul Hudson, was born in London and grew up in England. After he started playing a bass guitar but quickly gave it up, he got his first acoustic guitar at the age of 15, on which he learned to play. His earliest musical influences came from guitarists like Rory Gallagher, Van Halen, Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix and Jeff Beck, as well as rock bands like Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones, Queen and Aerosmith.
After leaving school he moved to Los Angeles and met the drummer Steven Adler, with whom he formed the band Road Crew. After Slash and Adler received a demo from guitarist Izzy Stradlin that also featured Axl Rose as the singer, the musicians arranged a meeting. Stradlin and Rose were having trouble holding their band Hollywood Rose together. After their first performances together, the two bands merged into Guns N’ Roses and became extremely successful.
In 1996 Slash left Guns N’ Roses after tensions with Axl Rose and the other band members and later played guitar with Velvet Revolver and Slash’s Snakepit. In 2010 he released his first solo album Slash, followed so far by four more solo albums. His new album Orgy of the Damned will be released in 2024. Rolling Stone ranked Slash at No. 65 on the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.

Low-end electric guitars for Slash fans
Slash himself plays almost exclusively Gibson guitars, mostly Les Paul models. These, however, are very expensive because they are true classics, crafted by hand in the USA. Epiphone as Gibson's subsidiary produces versions of these models as budget variants that are very well suited for getting into the world of the Slash sound. In addition, there are even affordable signature models of the Guns N’ Roses guitarist available in the form of the Epiphone Slash models.

High-end and signature electric guitars from Slash
As mentioned above, Slash is a big fan and endorser of the Gibson. He has numerous signature models to his name, both electric and acoustic guitars, which are precisely tailored to Slash's needs and are therefore best suited to help you imitate his characteristic sound. Over his long career Slash has built up a large guitar collection. He prefers to play Gibson Les Paul models, but his collection also includes several Firebirds, Explorers, ES models and SGs.
The Gibson Slash Collection
we at session would like to recommend once again the Gibson Slash Collection — a collection of instruments that Slash designed together with the team at Gibson. These guitars are matched to Slash's wants and needs down to the smallest detail. As a result, they not only impress with their high-quality feel, but are also easy to play and give you exactly the sound you need if you want to emulate Slash.
The Gibson Slash Collection comprises both electric and acoustic guitars, made by Gibson's highly skilled luthiers in the USA. Some models are only available in limited numbers and there are regular new models to discover.
“Developing my new collection with the new team at Gibson was really exciting. The quality and the attention to detail are at the highest level, and these guitars truly reflect what I play live and in the studio. I think guitarists will be thrilled by what we've developed.”

Alternative electric guitars for the perfect Slash sound
If you don't necessarily need a Gibson and are more interested in the sound than the brand, you should take a look at the following instruments. These are offered by other manufacturers and are modelled on classic Gibson designs, like the ones Slash himself plays.
Slash's amplifiers
Slash relies on the British sound of various Marshall amplifiers, which he combines with matching speaker cabinets, also from Marshall. Occasionally he mixes things up by playing through a Roland Jazz Chorus.
