Body shapes

The 800 Series is offered in a variety of body shapes: Grand Concert (812), Grand Auditorium (814), Grand Symphony (816) and Grand Orchestra (818). The choice of body shape has a decisive influence on the overall sound of the guitar. In summary, however, it can be said that on average the largest guitar has the strongest bass and bass-heavy sound and is therefore best suited for strumming, such as the Grand Orchestra. A smaller body, such as the Grand Concert, is recommended for finger pickers. If you are looking for an all-round guitar that is at home in any style, you will find it with the Grand Auditorium.

Bob Taylor's favorite tonewood pairing of Sitka Spruce and Rosewood delivers crystal clear highs and sonorous bass around a slightly rolled midrange that covers a wide tonal spectrum while leaving room in the mix for vocals and other instruments. Ultra-thin high-gloss finishes ensure optimal resonance, and V-Class bracing provides increased volume and sustain on all full-size steel string models. The scaled-down GT 811e offers a surprising variety of sounds. With the Builder's edition 814ce, the compact 811e, two nylon string models and a variety of other configurations, the 800 series offers something to suit every discerning guitarist.

Aesthetic and functional details

Standard equipment includes an ebony fretboard and headstock veneer, an bridge and bridgepins, maple binding with rosewood binding, a fretboard and headstock binding, a single-ring abalone rosette, a high-gloss finish on the entire body (except for the 818e) and mother-of- Pearl element inlays. The rounded rosewood armrests of the 814ce, 812ce and 812ce 12-Fret ensure significantly improved playing comfort. The easy-to-play Taylor neck ensures a pleasantly relaxed playing feel when gripping the strings. The Expression system 2 is Taylor's in-house acoustic pickup and pre-amp system, which faithfully converts the sound of the guitar series into a clear, natural-sounding live tone and stands out clearly from conventional piezo pickups.

Suitcase

All models in the 800 series, from the compact 812ce to the voluminous 818e, come with a luxurious hardshell case for reliable protection. The case with brown leather cover, wine-red lining and gold fittings offers the best comfort for your guitar and protects it from external influences. The cases of the Builder's edition models also have a floral pattern for a particularly elegant look.
