The entry into the world of solid guitars

Taylor 300 series offers musicians - both beginners and experienced players - a range of pristine, versatile acoustic sounds and a comfortable, inviting playing experience. You can choose between several solid tonewood combinations: Sapele and Sitka Spruce for a traditional look or Tasmanian Blackwood and Mahogany , each with a mahogany top, which offer a darker optics . All 300 series steel string guitars feature Taylor's patented V-Class bracing to improve sustain and volume , and the wide range of body shapes offers the player many options to choose between different sounds / tones and feels, reflecting the versatility of the series contrary. The 300 series also offers 12-fret and 12-string models , nylon string options , and a Builder's edition Grand Auditorium.

Simple, sophisticated features such as black binding with white trim, black pickguards and gemstone inlays made of Italian acrylic reflect a straightforward aesthetic . The mahogany top models feature a dark edgeburst finish that underlines their down-to-earth appeal .

All models in the Taylor 300 series come with stylish and durable hardshell cases so you can safely transport your guitar wherever your music takes you.

Special Feature: Soundport cutaway

The Soundport cutaway, used only on Taylor Grand Symphony guitars, offers the convenience of a traditional cutaway and gives the guitar a more intense, detailed sound. Aesthetically, it is a half Florentine cutaway, which when viewed from the front resembles the sharp horn of this traditional design. However, the back of the guitar has remained unchanged, retaining a touch of additional resonance while maintaining the traditional look and feel. The additional sound hole, intentionally placed at approximately a 45 degree angle to the top , adds an extra dimension of orchestral, robust acoustic tone, creating a sound that appears to fill the room and resonate in the air around you.

Which wood is right for me?

This depends on several factors. You should note that the respective body and top wood determines the basic sound, but you can vary this greatly depending on your playing style and how hard you play. So be sure to get advice from one of our branches in Frankfurt or Walldorf if you are still unsure. You can get a first insight into the tonewoods of the Taylor 300 series here:

Sapele

An alternative tonewood that comes from Central Africa and has been used by Taylor for over a decade. It is sometimes incorrectly referred to as African mahogany because it is very similar to the West African wood Khaya, which is known commercially as African mahogany. Sapele is a very sustainable, relatively fast-growing wood. In terms of sound, it offers everything that mahogany can do, just with a little more oomph in the highs. Due to its rapid growth, Taylor will be able to offer this wood for a long time.

Fits well with almost all playing styles. Like Ovangkol, it is a great all-purpose tonewood that delivers a balanced, pleasant tone in a variety of playing applications, from fingerstyle to strumming.

Models : 312ce-N, 314ce, 314ce-N, 317, 317e

Mahogany

Mahogany has been a popular tonewood for many decades, used in many old-school acoustic recordings, and this sonic heritage runs through various styles of roots music. Mahogany's sound profile is strong in the midrange. Acoustic guitars generally tend to be in the middle of the sound spectrum, but mahogany has a particular emphasis in the midrange. These great mids create overtones that, over time, combine to create a harmonious overall sound that defines the guitar's tonal character.

Fits well with a wide range of players and musical styles. A mahogany guitar with a smaller body will appeal to fingerstyle players, while flatpickers will opt for a mahogany dreadnought. When it comes to versatility, a Grand Auditorium is a good choice.

Models : 324ce, 326ce, 326ce Baritone-8 Special, 327e

Tasmanian Blackwood

Tasmanian Blackwood is a subspecies of the Acacia family, which also includes the Hawaiian Koa. The sound profile of Tasmanian Blackwood is similar to that of Hawaiian Koa or Mahogany in the midrange - a little drier and clearer, but also warm - with an added touch of shimmer and brilliance in the high end, like that of Indian Rosewood. Its musicality suits a variety of body sizes and musical styles. Thanks to its exotic grain, it also looks great.

Fits well with various playing styles, especially fingerstyle players who have a less powerful touch will appreciate the pleasantly clear sound of Tasmanian Blackwood.

Models : 322ce Blackwood, 324 Blackwood, 324ce Blackwood
