The PRS SE Swamp Ash Special is a unique model from the growing PRS SE series and the revival of a popular PRS USA model, the Swamp Ash Special. With a swamp ash body and a 22-fret maple neck with maple fretboard , the SE Swamp Ash Special offers a fresh design and a diverse sound personality. Due to the choice of wood, the Swamp Ash Special should also appeal to players who have previously been less able to identify with PRS .
The PRS SE Swamp Ash Special is delivered in a well-padded, stylish PRS gig bag. The model is available in several colors such as Iri Blue, Charcoal or the classic Vintage Sunburst.

The Swamp Ash Special is back
Until 2013, the popular USA model of the Swamp Ash Special was part of PRS's core range in various versions. Now the inexpensive SE version takes over the legacy of the Swamp Ash Special. The revived model should not only impress PRS fans with its specifications: a body made of swamp ash with a screwed-on maple neck provides the necessary punch and plenty of attack. The HSH pickup combination, which is rare for PRS , enables a variety of different sounds, the guitar shines both cleanly and distorted in a variety of genres and impresses with its unique look and sound.
Electronics and hardware
The PRS 85/15 "S" pickup flank a PRS -developed AS-01 single coil "S" pickup in the middle position. The AS-01 Single Coil is made of both Alnico and steel - which is where the name of Paul Reed Smith's new pickup creation comes from - which gives the pickups additional mass and thus contributes to a powerful sound . Paired with a push-pull tone controls and a 3-way pickup toggle switch, this pickup and electronics package offers the guitarist a wide range of sounds. Thanks to the patented tremolo from PRS , you can vary your sound as you wish and expand the sound spectrum. The overall sound of the PRS SE Swamp Ash Special offers tight bass, clear but smooth highs and a welcome twang sound that is suitable for hot country, blues and even jazz.
Unmistakably PRS
In addition to the choice of wood, which is unusual for PRS , the look of the SE Swamp Ash Special shows unmistakably: Paul Reed was at work here! It has the classic PRS style body shape, which has been an integral part of the guitar world since the 80s, and the characteristic bird inlays made of abalone and the form of the headstock also mark the SE Swamp Ash Special as a PRS model. In terms of manufacturing quality, the SE instruments are in no way inferior to their relatives from the USA.
