LINE 6. Few names are more associated with modelling and innovative sound design than the Californian sound house. The brand took off with the famous red “bean”, the LINE 6 Pocket POD, in the early 2000s. Suddenly musicians in the recording studio could access a huge variety of amplifier and effect sounds without having to set up complex rigs and mic them. “Modelling” entered the mainstream, appeared on almost every mixing console and delivered sounds straight to home headphones. At session the POD series remains a top seller to this day, with each generation — POD 2.0, POD XT, POD HD500 — adding new features like improved sound, many more amp models and hundreds of effects. Current models such as the LINE 6 POD GO also offer the option to use multiple rigs at once, so you can play complex sounds with several amplifiers and effects simultaneously.

For professionals LINE 6 expanded its product range in 2015 with HELIX, a kind of high-end POD offering almost endless possibilities to fine-tune the perfect sound. With professional routing options, displays on the footswitches to show the current setup and, until then, the most realistic sound in LINE 6 history, HELIX can still be found on stages and in studios around the world. With the HELIX LT, a reduced model with fewer features, and the HX Stomp, a very compact, more affordable variant, the Californians later extended the range with stripped-down options for smaller budgets. HX Effects rounds off the HELIX range as a pure effects module without amplifier sounds and is hugely popular at session!

LINE 6 modelling didn’t start out in pedal form, but first reached musicians as a kind of all‑in‑one amp, the AxSYS 212, which contained a wide variety of classic amp sounds from clean to metal. From these roots later classics like the LINE 6 VETTA II emerged, as well as an absolute beginner top seller: the SPIDER! Today the LINE 6 SPIDER V MKII is a true classic in the beginner amp segment and delivers great tone for home, music schools, rehearsal rooms or your first gigs — whatever your musical style — for modest money.

Whether modelling amplifiers for electric guitars, multi‑effects pedals or now also wireless systems for instruments for cable‑free use of guitars or basses on stage, like the LINE 6 Relay G30, LINE 6 remains a standard for anyone seeking outstanding sound with maximum flexibility.
