The Roland GAIA 2 is a groundbreaking synthesizer with a newly developed hybrid sound engine and a clear user interface on which users can quickly and easily familiarize themselves with the possibilities of sound generation and sound design. Equipped with wavetable and virtual analog oscillators, an interactive control, 37 full-size buttons, model expansion support and other powerful features, GAIA 2 offers a limitless universe of inspiring sounds.

With the diverse synthesis tools, users can create both familiar sounds and new, never-heard-before sounds. The wavetable oscillator goes a whole step further than previous concepts and can morph between different waveforms. The spectrum ranges from dramatic transitions to slowly developing textures. The synthesizer also offers unique phase and shape modulation options to distort waveforms and create new textures with complex overtones. The wavetable oscillator is rounded off by two virtual analog oscillators, which can not only be used to reinterpret old classics, but also to create the sounds of the future. The possibilities of the GAIA 2 range from smooth Vintage sounds to sharp-edged leads to sci-fi soundscapes.

The Roland GAIA 2 also supports the Roland Model Expansions - detailed replicas of legendary synthesizers from Roland 's long history. With just one, dedicated button, users can seamlessly switch between the integrated sound engine and classics like the JUPITER-8 or JUNO-106. In addition to the already installed SH-101 Model Expansion, numerous other synthesizers and accompanying sound packs are available in the Roland Cloud.

The logically structured user interface of the GAIA 2 invites you to try out and discover the sound worlds. The structure follows the principle of "one control per function". In conjunction with the informative display , the finish enables intuitive and creative work without having to constantly dive into menus. The synthesizer also impresses visually across the board with its elegant controls and white anodized aluminum finish .

The Roland GAIA 2 features a motional pad with touch control that brings static sounds to life. To do this, almost any synthesizer or effect parameter can be assigned to the individual X/Y points and morphed back and forth between them by moving your finger on the pad . In addition, it is possible to record movements to create complex, modulated transformations.

With the Roland GAIA 2's intuitive sequencer , users can capture inspiring moments and implement even the boldest ideas. There is also a cool random pattern function to create new ideas through random pattern creation.

The Roland GAIA 2 includes numerous classic Roland effects to take sounds to the next level . There are over 50 MFX types to choose from as well as a dedicated chorus section that gives sounds more fullness and space. The powerful reverb/ delay section includes a new studio-quality shimmer reverb as well as many other high-quality effect types.

With its USB-C connection , the Roland GAIA 2 becomes an audio/ midi interface for music production on a computer, tablet or smartphone. The Class Compliant connection works plug-and-play without the need to install additional driver . There is also a USB-A port available, which can be used to connect a USB flash memory for data backups or a USB midi controllers for extended control .

The Roland GAIA 2 supports Roland Cloud Connect, an optional wireless adapter that allows you to browse and download Roland Cloud content via a mobile device. When you purchase Roland Cloud Connect, users also receive a free one-year Roland Cloud Pro membership with unlimited access to thousands of sounds, model expansions and much more.

About Roland

Roland was founded as a manufacturer of various music materials and studio technology on April 18, 1972 in Osaka, Japan. Among the earliest products to come onto the market were the first rhythm machines from the TR series, whose successors TR-808, TB-303 and TR-909 had a significant influence on both techno and electro music, as well as hip hop scene. The JC-120 Jazz chorus guitar amplifier was also created in the mid-1970s, and both Andy Summers from The Police as well as Kirk Hammett and James Hetfield from Metallica were audibly impressed by its ultra-clear sound in conjunction with the built-in chorus effect . Since then and to this day, Roland has continuously expanded its catalog with high-quality and interesting products in a wide variety of fields such as digital pianos, groove boxes, e-drums and synthesizers.
