Product information

The Jackson Pro Series Spectra Bass is a first-class instrument that shows its potential in its name - it is an instrument for professionals . A bold bass that stands more than a step above the rest; a bass designed to offer the best to the most demanding and experimental professional player. The best in style, sound, comfort and playability. The all-new Pro Series Spectra Bass SBP IV features a unique multi-ply poplar/walnut/maple/walnut/mahogany body finished with a sophisticated Amber Flame finish and a unique color-matched 2x2 headstock with a subtle Has “J” logo.

The Spectra Bass' offset body was also designed with professional musicians in mind. It has a larger upper horn, which distributes the weight evenly across the instrument , ensuring perfect balancing and playing comfort. The full-length, graphite-reinforced, five-piece maple/walnut/maple/walnut/maple neck provides ultimate stability and impressive sustain, while the speed neck contour and 12"-16" compound radius of the caramelized 24-jumbo Jatoba fingerboard Frets and oval dark mother-of-pearl inlays offer excellent playability.

The   Pro SBP IV offers a full sound spectrum for demanding and progressive bassists. Equipped with Alnico V magnets, the Nordstrand SB4 Single-Coil Soapbar bridge and neck pickups deliver an all-round pulverizing and distinctive sound with brighter, cleaner and punchier characteristics. An active 3-band EQ, a two-way toggle switch to bypass or activate the active 3-band EQ circuit, a blend controls , and a volume control provide a wide range of tonal possibilities. The two-way toggle switch prevents sound loss due to a dead battery by bypassing the active circuit and making it easier to produce the sound of the bass without using the battery. An additional three-way toggle switch selects a specific mid- frequency range for even more precise sound control.
This four-string bass also features a Jackson single-string hardtail bridge , which improves note response and sustain.

About Jackson

Jackson Guitars was created when Grover Jackson took over the well-known company Charvel's Guitar Repair in 1978. The collaboration with the then Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Randy Rhoads in 1980 resulted in the Rhoads body shape, which is still available today, and also marked the start of Jackson Guitars. The timing was just right because heavy metal was experiencing a heyday in the 1980s and the trend (started by Eddie Van Halen) was so-called super or power strats. These are guitars that are visually more or less based on the classic ST form , but are equipped with more modern and stylistically more suitable components such as humbuckers or Floyd Rose tremolos. Jackson soon earned a reputation as a forger of premium, American-built, high-end custom instruments that could be seen in the hands of many well-known guitarists of the time. With the musical changes of the 1990s, Jackson Guitars began opening factories in the Far East in order to be able to offer their instruments in cheaper areas. Since 2002, both Jackson and Charvel have been part of the Fender Musical Instruments Corporation.
