Introducing: Your Dream Instrument from Gibson
Every info for your decision
It is one of the biggest and most popular classics among electric guitars: The Gibson Les Paul Standard. The originals from 1958 and the very rare 1959 models are particularly popular with collectors and are traded at utopian sums. Many guitars from back then are still in good condition today and are used as models for new custom shop instruments and are studied in detail by Gibson's experienced luthiers. Of the various Les Paul vintages, 1959 is probably the most sought-after and also the most expensive. In this year, there was a lot of experimentation with different burst finishes, which stood out strongly from the 58 vintage and were very intense in colour. The new colours were initially accepted only hesitantly and therefore fewer instruments were produced, making an original 1959 Les Paul Standard a rare and sought-after collector's item. The Gibson Custom Shop got inspired by these guitars and is now presenting a very special Custom Shop one-off model based on a Les Paul Standard from 1959.
The Gibson 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue Heavy Aged Slow Iced Tea Fade Murphy Lab is a classic single cut-style electric guitar with a mahogany body an a maple top. Mahogany was already used in the original Les Paul guitars and provides the basis for the perfect vintage sound. The mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard features an Authentic '59 Medium C-Shape profile and a classic flat fretboard radius of 12”. The guitar is equipped with a classic H-H pickup combination of a Gibson Custom Bucker in the bridge position and aGibson Custom Bucker in the neck position. Other features include Kluson Singke Line tuners, golden Top Hat knobs, a Tune-O-Matic bridge and a cream pickguard.
This model is finished in a beautiful Slow Iced Tea Fade. It has been carefully hand-aged in Tom Murphy's famous Murphy Lab to give the guitar the feel and look of an instrument that has been played for years. The thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish ensures that the wood can vibrate particularly well and that the lacquer finish ages more beautifully. The most extreme of Gibson's Relic levels, Heavy Aged evokes the spirit of the most tried and worn Gibson instruments in history. If you want a guitar that looks like it hasn't left your side since the dawn of rock ‘n’ roll, this is the finish for you.
The Gibson 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue Heavy Aged Slow Iced Tea Fade Murphy Lab comes with a certificate of authenticity in a luxurious original Gibson Custom Shop case, which you can use to transport your new dream guitar safely and protect it from external influences.

About Gibson
