When designing the instruments, great care was taken to fulfill the artists' personal wishes and to come particularly close to their original instruments. All guitars and basses were designed down to the smallest detail by the artist himself in collaboration with Fender : color / finish, woods, hardware and the degree of aging are determined by the artists themselves and implemented by Fender . The built-in pickup are usually custom-made . Each instrument is handcrafted with great attention to detail.
The list of famous musicians who play a Fender instrument is endless, ranging from famous rock and punk icons to modern pop and R&B artists . The most famous are Eric Clapton's famous Strat “Blackie”, Jimi Hendrix 's white Strat and of course Jimmy Page's Mirror-Telecaster. New additions to the Fender Artist Club include R&B artists HER and Steve Lacy , Australian pop artist Tash Sultana and Grammy-winning Americana artist Jason Isbell .
Each instrument comes in a design case or gig bag , which is also based on the artist's desired design. Signature straps, picks or other special giveaways are of course also included.
