Product information

With the Telecaster in hand, Chrissie Hynde founded The Pretenders in 1979 and quickly turned the band into an unmistakable rock'n'roll bundle of energy. Chrissie's robust Tele rhythms were the heartbeat of the Pretenders from the start, they defined the crisp, powerful sound.

The Chrissie Hynde Telecaster has an alder body with a Faded Ice Blue Metallic Road Worn lacquer finish and a custom maple neck in a Mid '60s C profile with a 7.25" fretboard radius , exactly like Chrissie's original guitar. Vintage output Chrissie Hynde Tele pickups deliver the authentic sound . The mirrored chrome pickguard also corresponds to the original design - every detail represents the look and feel of Chrissie's '65 model.

When designing the instruments, great care was taken to fulfill the artists' personal wishes and to come particularly close to their original instruments. All guitars and basses were designed down to the smallest detail by the artist himself in collaboration with Fender : color / finish, woods, hardware and the degree of aging are determined by the artists themselves and implemented by Fender . The built-in pickup are usually custom-made . Each instrument is handcrafted with great attention to detail.

The list of famous musicians who play a Fender instrument is endless, ranging from famous rock and punk icons to modern pop and R&B artists .
